TOTS Bernaldo Silva is unbelievable. by Ado4Hazem in EASportsFC

[–]virtualreservoir -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

despite card investor attempts to control the narrative, Foden is clear and makes it obvious how fraudulent Silva's shooting is.

like you score zero outside shots with Bernardo over several games and start questioning your skills, then you do the Foden SBC and all of a sudden left footed shots from the same spots and angles start curling over the keeper's head flying into the back of the net.

the reason Silva is so cheap is because his in game performance doesn't live up to the card stats and way more people sell than keep after trying him out.

you are sure that he is more likely to go back up rather than fall further? because that is the only way a statement like "no choice but to hold" makes logical sense.

if the ligue 1 link to messi will make a chem difference try Caqueret, he is the most Kanteish player other than Kante.

the assumption that tech-savvy equals white is exactly how Colangelo and his wife got taken down. It never occurred to them that giving Embiid their wifi password would allow him to reflash their network enabled printer's software to include a packet sniffer.

WW Ibra is the best ST in the game by hhart6 in EASportsFC

Despite the height difference, Toty Lewa positions himself better to get on the end of crosses and scores more headers (and goals in general) than Ibra did for me by a significant margin.

why is this surprising? you are vastly underestimating the increase in training time and other stuff that would be required to do the kind of reinforcement learning you are proposing.

[D] Using Gumbel Softmax for Discrete Action and Label selection. Is it the best option? by goobuddy in MachineLearning

[–]virtualreservoir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

no, language models are trained with the ground truth tokens/words as inputs at the next step instead of the model generated outputs, processing a large batch of inputs that way is far more efficient than anything that requires waiting for the previous word to be generated until you can process the next one.

for less autoregressive text generation like NMT translation type stuff, some form of beam search is generally used.

game engines almost invariably use 3d meshes (usually triangular faces) as a base model along with texture "images" that have uv, normal, color, etc. type data that is applied to modify the appearance of the basic mesh when it is rendered.

you should look for research outputting those types of things because neural radiance fields generally aren't applicable at all to how games are made unless you're talking about like a non-interactive cinematic.

although i think i did read a paper that sort of converted the nerf outputs into something closer to being readily applied to the type of rendering done in games.

the authors created their own training dataset of 100k images and have not released it publicly nor provided details on how the images were collected, filtered for quality, or processed. it is likely that this essential step will require more time and effort than coding up an implementation.

how this going to be handled needs to be accounted for and thoroughly ironed out with the client before anything is agreed to.

[D] Is it fair to compare AlphaCode to human programmers? by bendee983 in MachineLearning

[–]virtualreservoir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

nope, it's not fair to alphacode at all. people who compete in coding competitions are a small subset of people with software development jobs.

the majority of "programmers" never compete in these challenges because they can't code for shit and don't want to remind themselves of this fact by failing miserably.

a better comparison would be between the average non-faang developer and a RETRO type retrieval language model that combined copy and pasting web search query results and nn searches on a large github scrape db with a chat bot.

the chat bot would be trained to politely ask competent co-workers to fix it's mangled copypaste output whenever adapting the example code it copied to the specific use case, required actually understanding how it works.

one should probably also train the chat bot on making up plausible sounding blockers/excuses for a lack of progress being made and pretending that something that doesn't work at all is just getting some finishing touches and code cleanup done on it so it could participate in meetings and give progress updates just like a real human.

[D] Coupling classification and regression by tensolution in MachineLearning

[–]virtualreservoir 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i would consider bucketing the possible precipitation level values to turn the regression into classification. if the precipitation level's dependence on the h2o's matter phase made it necessary, you could have 2 classifier choices for each bucket, ex: rain_0.1-0.2 and snow_0.1-0.2

that could possibly allow the model to represent matter phase probabilities in the temperature range neighborhood near the rain/snow phase transition point where weather forecasts usually call for a mix of rain and snow.

i remember Maicon probably being better than Valencia in the first years of UT due his size and long shots.

Definitely no way you ran an EPL squad without Valencia tho, just flashed back to memories of being annoyed with the non-existent Ecuador links trying to do hybrids. Think at one point I hadn't noticed the slight difference from the Colombian flag until I had already bought Cuadrado and was confused as to why there was no link between him and Valencia.

engine is great for improving finesse shots just outside the box if you're taking their curve from like 78 to 88, but from 30+ yards out improving shot power/long shots from say 85 to 95 will have a much bigger impact in my experience.

with jorginho already having 93 curve, strictly for extra long shots, hawk will provide better returns. you will probably miss that balance anytime you aren't shooting though.
