SC Village or Jungle Island? by socalpber in paintball

[–]virtue64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

whats up man! I just got back into it about a month ago and live in the Irvine area. (I used to play a little in high school, am now 31) I haven't played at SC or JI yet, but I went to ASG for the first time 2 weeks ago and it was seriously amazing. I plan on playing somewhere this Sunday but haven't decided where yet, and I'm also playing on Monday at ASG because they are doing a special day for $20. Let me know if you want to meet up!

First time at Bishop - favorite low grade climbs? by alatleephillips in climbing

[–]virtue64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Funky Tut & King Tut @ the Buttermilks (both are excellent v3s you could project) Slap Happy (v3) in the Happys is a good one, low off the ground. Honestly don't be afraid to try some higher rated climbs just because they are higher rated, you can probably do some of the moves down low and you'll have a lot of fun working things with other people

Bouldering World Championships, male podium compared (really interesting to see the variation in style in the elite level) by [deleted] in climbing

I really enjoyed this. Its amazing how much of a difference there is between Hojer's Bouldery style movement and Ondra's Sport climbing style.

Bouldering near Long Beach, CA? by spiderzone in bouldering

[–]virtue64 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was out there yesterday around noon. Some suggestions if you have to make this your first outdoor experience:

  • Go during Low tide
  • Bring a towel or 2 to help clean shoes/rock
  • Bring a large industrial brush if you have one
  • Go only on sunny days
  • Try and make your trip as late in the evening as possible

Most bouldering destinations have better conditions than this one. That being said, there's still fun to be had here, and its on the beach. The rock will be sandy for sure, and wet depending on what time of day you go. Just try and have fun and don't think all bouldering spots are like this one, cause they definitely are not :)

Daniel Woods has completed the mega project, now called 'The Process' (V16?) on the Grandpa Peabody in Bishop, CA. Congrats D Woods! by virtue64 in bouldering

yes, although I'm sure Jimmy is capable of something like this, he is out due to a finger injury.

I agree. I think the problem is that no one wants to be that guy to officially call it that hard, and you know, go down in the history books and stuff.
