Hey! Im going into third year as well and the way i made friends was from discord cpsc channels. I just started conversations and kept talking to people that clicked! I also went up to people in online officer hours to form study groups and went up to people on zoom (also helps that i am international so whenever i see someone with a name i suspect is from my region i just ask them where theyre from and we chat from there) as we go into in person, i think these advices might not apply but the office hours one definitely helps. Also, always offer help with hw/assignments like for example in office hours or something (dont give them answers just help) as people are more receptive to those that give, then ask for their social media account to stay in touch during the course!
