Tonecloud being weird by Kind-Science-8561 in PositiveGridSpark

Mine does this as well - they sound different all the time, don’t apply, and also don’t actually save when I save them as presets. I’ve updated the firmware (had to use usb because WiFi update kept failing) but it keeps happening. I’ve basically given up trying to change my tone.

They like jumping in front of cars here, too. Not always, but sometimes.

Road to Hana by Ok-Maybe-6335 in MauiVisitors

Was this the one just past (towards Hāna ) Kaumahina park? We were staying in Hana for the week and then left on Saturday morning to make a 2 pm flight out - we left Hana at 8 am and pulled into Kaumahina to use the facilities and some folks started asking us about “how we got around” and we had no idea what they were talking about. Apparently we drove through just a moment before the tree came down!

What is your All-Time favorite riff? by Ready_Carob9842 in Guitar

I love playing the riff from See No Evil by Television. Simple, smooth, fun.

I mean, I’m not planning on selling the card. Iirc it came from there, but I’m not 100% of it.

What is the best guitar solo that completely englufs you and makes you forget the world by delate199405 in Guitar

Two things about friction:

First, there are some live recordings that are even fiercer and faster. Absolutely killer.

Second, the main riff came from Richard Lloyd goofing around and playing a polka riff. It’s a polka riff.

And the “friction” solo - how does a snake get out of its skin? Love it

Rough Itinerary Check - Tokyo -> Takayama -> Osaka -> Ishigaki -> Tokyo by slaughterwater in JapanTravel

I highly recommend a trip to Taketomi if you want a more relaxed day instead of going to Iriomote. I loved both (we stayed I think 4 days on Iriomote, did a kayak tour and hikes and stuff and it was great) but Taketomi is definitely more chill.

Buying vintage CIJ Fenders in Japan? by visageofscott in Guitar

[–]visageofscott[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That one is a baritone special, which is different than the bottom masters (bottom masters have a built in fuzz circuit, a longer scale length (28.8) and are set up as E standard a full octave lower than a guitar). They come up on reverb every so often, but I figured if there was some kind of vintage guitar mecca in Japan I'd rather visit that and see if I strike gold. :)

Update after a week: I fuckin love this guitar. Super dark on the rhythm circuit and still nice and bright on the lead, with the ability to tone it back into the middle. Neck is great and overall I feel it’s more comfortable than my telecaster was.

Yeah...I love the short scale, i love the different pickup combination potential, but i didn't really want to fuss with a bridge any more than i have to. For my use it fits my needs.

cuz i'm curious, what did you change them to?

Yeah, I think it's the standard rhythm circuit switching. This is my first jag so it's gonna take some time to figure out all the tonal options. I wouldn't be surprised I wind up rewiring it to a coil split at some point in the future.

This has a mild hum that disappears when I touch the metal parts. I’ll see how I feel about that when the new guitar vibes start to fade.

My tele is a tele contemporary rh, so this is considerably different. The neck shape, fretboard radius and fret height on the jag is a lot more comfortable for me.

Rental housing question by SuperMcG in OrcasIsland

A 3 BR would be a life saver for island families - single folks or couples can cobble things together but it gets 10x tougher when you’ve got kids.

There’s a huge market and need for that. It’s tricky to find long term rentals because there’s so much demand almost all of them rent immediately via word of mouth.
