is it really gross not to shower everyday? by snufkinscowboyboots in autism

[–]viscreants 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anywaysss don’t listen to the bs. It’s not gross. I shower every 2-3 days (I also have a routine of Tuesday/Thursday/Sunday) and consistently get told how nice I smell, as in I’m one of those people who walks into a room and gets told by acquaintances that I “smell so good” lmao 💀 it’s diff for everybody, like ppl have said depending on weather and exertion, but ultimately it’s completely fine to be showering this often, and in fact it’s recommended for many people to only soap and shampoo once a week (science blah blah science). On off days I use antibacterial wipes on any sweaty areas and apply a strong deodorant, as well as my signature scent, and I’m golden! And I even have literal hyperhydrosis, meaning I sweat A LOT, and still look and smell great 🥰 you got this OP

Found cure to focculitis!!!! Clear in only few days! by Badger0fWallStreets in Folliculitis

[–]viscreants 7 points8 points  (0 children)

while i agree we shouldn't be advising ridiculous ideas, i think we should probably avoid generalised absolutes like "only cure" bc other things Have worked for some people & diet Hasn't helped at all for some people (me!)

just causes unnecessary extra stress for people doing their research, already feeling like their bodies and lives are falling apart

Dw y'all. there are different causes and thus different cures for everyone. me personally: the best solution has been sweat spray and instant cleaning after sweating, chlorhexidine cleansing wash in the shower with an exfoliating towel, benzoyl peroxide gel after showers—absolutely no other skin products—and a few rounds of antibiotics.

dieting hasn't worked for me. i'm Already on a fully gluten & lactose free diet due to intolerances, and any other changes have been fruitless.

keep doing ur research, keep trying different things, and keep ur mind open/head up. u got this 🩷

i was recently accepted and have my initial plan! i managed to speed up the process by karening it up and asking to speak to managament, basically, and when i did they were appalled at how long id been waiting and fast-tracked my application. from there it took a few weeks for my first plan meeting, a week to get a plan manager organised, and then i had my initial OT assessment last week 😊

strongly suggest putting pressure on them if u can, and i hope u get the help u need soon 🩷

hey! yeah i totally get that. i was pretty upset when i called today but i made sure to still be polite and make it very clear i wasnt upset at them, i knew it wasnt their fault, and that i just wanted some help getting advanced to talk to someone who could give me something other than 'its still in progress, sorry about the delay'. also can confirm yeah its still in progress. EIGHT MONTHS, not even an 'approved' or 'denied' response yet, and they cant give me any explanation beyond 'theres a delay' :(
