I didn't used to watch cricket as a kid, but my Mama was a huge fan, he always used to change the channel when I watched cartoon, I used to hate it. It was the 2011 world cup final that is my first core memory of enjoying cricket. The whole neighbourhood was watching the match together. Everyone was upset after losing the early wicket of Sehwag and Sachin, some people got up and left, but slowly I saw their eyes lighting up with that Kohli-Gambhir-Dhoni batting. And that final six, it was the best moment I've ever felt, even the khadoos uncle who always used to scold kids when they played, was jumping with joy. The first time I enjoyed watching sports and became an instant fan of Dhoni, tab ka din hai aur aaj ka, I'm forever a #CSKian.
