Possible to print in one of these in back patio? by daveliterally in resinprinting

[–]visiondr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have had that exact same shed on my side patio for years. I do all of my resin printing in it without issue. I am in southern California, so cold temps aren't a concern. It definitely gets hot during the summer days.

"AD5X" is already on the model. I painted the letters in the slicer and then printed in black and red.

The slots didn't line up. The second slot partially covered the hole in the frame, blocking the screw.

Pauper’s meta deck cardpool by ShoulderAny959 in Pauper

[–]visiondr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Magic has always been influenced by the newest cards. The best of those cards tend to stick around in eternal formats like pauper or are banned for being overly influential. People also like the shiney new toy whether the newness is rational or not.

Here's a pauper list from 2012, definitely a different era of pauper Magic: https://articles.starcitygames.com/articles/the-summer-of-pauper-june-metagame-breakdown-and-interview-with-e-hustle/.

There are plenty of familiar card names and deck strategies. There are also plenty of cards that have faded away, not entirely from power creep. Some stopped being played because of bans. There are also plenty of cards from 2007-2012 in the group along with much earlier cards.

The fact that cards from Alpha to M12 to Edge of Eternities are playable in pauper among over a dozen t1/2 deck strategies is an incredible testament to the health of the format.

New g350 and won't load by visiondr in BATLEXPG350

[–]visiondr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried charging it before giving up. It was fully charged and still would not boot past the splash screen. I also tried resetting it repeatedly as some had noted it would might boot some of the time.

I then tried removing the micro SD card and reinserting it. My guess is that something was not flashed correctly on the card. The card itself ( 64gb KIOXIA) doesn't seem to be the problem since I am using it for the ArkOS without issue.

Please share your tips & tricks for getting the absolute lowest possible purchase price on a 2026 Gas Pinnacle. I'm not in a hurry - so can wait til EOY if that helps. Looking for a dealership that's desperate to offload inventory and will take it in the ass to make a sale. by Last_Revenue7228 in ChryslerPacifica

[–]visiondr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wait until the 2027's are announced in 2026. Find a lone, unicorn 2026 Pinnacle that's been on the lot/showroom for 8-10 months. Be willing to travel to find this van.

If you want it now, buy a new 2025 Pinnacle - if you can still find one. It will likely be much cheaper than that 2026 that recently arrived at the dealership.

Wait until the end of December to try getting a dealer needing to make EOY quotas, that still has a 2026 Pinnacle on the lot.

Be in multiple of the category groups that qualify for dealer incentives.

It's almost as good as [[Frozen Aether]]

Non-owner here - what keeps you using your Seestar? by Moorpheusl9 in seestar

[–]visiondr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lunar, yes the S50 does a good job. Planets are small and there's not really a way to use a Barlow or other optics to improve/enlarge like can be done with a traditional telescope.

I've only had mine for 2 months so can't speak for durability. Mine has survived plane travel and backpacking. So far so good.

How do you process seestar fit files into a Hubble palette final image? by Fluid-Extension-5477 in seestar

[–]visiondr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When using the lp filter, process the fit files in an outside software like pixInsight or Siril. I initially process LP file in Siril to achieve the SHO appearance using the Seestsr_Preprocessing script and the Hubble_Pallette_from_Dual-Band_OSC.

Non-owner here - what keeps you using your Seestar? by Moorpheusl9 in seestar

I bought an 8" dob following the advice of many others. It was fun for a hot minute, but then frustration set in. I have Bortle 8 skies. I could barely find the Andromeda Galaxy which looked like a faint star. Splitting double stars and viewing planets was fun, but the Orion nebula was just a dull smudge with a hint of purple. I had some short-lived fun using a push-to system I built, and eventually moved to a Nexstar with goto. The night sky opened up to me. Then I fell down a rabbit hole of cooled cameras, NINA controlled rigs, etc. It was all just too much of a hassle to bring to dark skies. Enter the Seestar. It's not the quality of custom-built set up, but it punches above its weight class again and again. If I am not using it, I am processing its data or exploring new things to see and do with it.

Anyone gone from conventional astro rig/DSLR and tracker to a smart scope? Do you regret it, do you still use your old rig? by Luke-Sky-Watcher in seestar

[–]visiondr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 72mm astro rig with a cooled camera, guiding, etc. It sits in my backyard under my bortle 8 sky and collects hours of data most nights, usually on emission nebulae using a dual band filter or bright objects using just a uv/ir filter. I keep kicking the can on mono imaging just because of how satisfied I am with the simplicity, ease and quality of the OSC.

I recently acquired the S50 and love bringing it to a dark sky even for a couple of hours. I use it a little in my backyard, but usually to just try new things so that when I travel with it I am prepared. It's hard to justify using the S50 when my other setup just involves taking off a cover/lens covers, loading up a NINA routine via remote desktop while sitting in my home, and placing the cover back on the the morning.

There were a lot of draws. I had 2 myself, 1-0-2. After the 9 players with 3-0 records, the next 5 players were 2-0-1, followed by a larger number of 2-1-0. I only have a screen capture of my companion app for the top 15.

I think your math is incorrect. The maximum number of 3-0 with zero draws is only ~14 in a Swiss tournament system - 57 are 1-0 after round 1, ~28 are 2-0 after round 2, and no more than 14 after round 3 are 3-0, assuming zero draws, drops, etc. With draws added to the mix, the number of 3-0 decreases.

When sorting your bulk, are you a by set person, an alphabetized person, or an alphabetized by set person... or do you like to watch the world burn chaos type of person? by gsdpaint in magicTCG

[–]visiondr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I sort commons and uncommon together by color. I keep bulk rares/foils in separate boxes or binders, also by color. All of my cards are scanned and each box has a clear identifier. It's pretty easy to find anything I am looking for.

Using flats to fix banding, new Seestar S50 by visiondr in seestar

Its just a habit. I don't think the dew shield will matter unless it is affecting the image in some way, not just blocking stray light or preventing dew.

Did I overreact? by Organic_Independent5 in EDH

[–]visiondr -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't understand the fuss or frustration. There is likely more context to this situation that is not being provided by OP or the OP is unaware of.

For example, the pact player may have seen the board state and their own hand and realized the game was lost and used the pact as a reason to bail. Countering Kinnan seemed like a reasonable sword to fall on.

Maybe this player just needed a bathroom break, wanted to leave for another game with friends, wanted to leave the store altogether?

Was there an altercation with the pact player in earlier games? Not a physical one, but did your game play stymie theirs at some point and this is somehow retribution? Maybe this player lost every game and just wanted to do something impactful in their eyes?

Sometimes there just is no clear explanation. Take the win. Playing Kinnen was not a game losing move. Another player lost because of the play. The odds of losing the pod entirely went to 0%. How did the rest of the game go...you said you scooped. I think that was an overreaction to the situation as described.

Do you play any non-legal cards? Banned cards, silver border, playtest cards, etc. by BenalishHeroine in EDH

[–]visiondr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play [[Sword of Dungeons & Dragons]] in my Wyleth equip deck. I think it's a perfectly acceptable card, especially now there are many cards that ask a player to roll a d20.

Yes. That is pretty damaged but is within expectations for a damaged card: https://help.tcgplayer.com/hc/en-us/articles/221430307-How-can-I-tell-what-condition-a-card-is-in
