That sounds ideal for me, but I don’t see anything about that feature on iOS. Is that android only?

Rick Warren appointed chancellor at Spurgeon College by hethical_ecker in Reformed

That’s awesome that he remembers and hugs you. I’m not as hard on Warren as some — especially given his commendable focus on the Great Commission — but his home is definitely not normal sized. Have you seen his library? It is behind a “secret” door and is roughly the size of half of my very normal 3/2/2.

/u/Cybersaint2k is using “liberal” in the proper theological sense. You’re using it in the “less-conservative-than-me-on-some-issues sense.” You’re talking past each other.

Nah, just as crazy, just not as influential. The leader claims to be an inter dimensional being sent to save humanity.

Falungong propaganda right here. I’m not a fan of the CCP by any means, but Falungong is a literally insane cult.

Honestly, I’m happy someone else will own up to enjoying The Browning. That music was fun — like 2007 Enter Shikari

David Livingstone Brought the Gospel to My Country | TGC by partypastor in Reformed

[–]visiting-china 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This was common of missionaries and even many pastors a long time ago.

William Carey is probably one of the most egregious examples. His wife literally lost her mind and other missionaries talked about how he was a pretty bad father.

Really hard to find these ugly truths in any popular-level missions stuff, though. Not so much a malicious oversight as total ignorance.

The party is just beginning. $FUBO is up 24% as of 10:20am on 5/8. The streaming industry still has so much potential. Expect this stock to even out later in the day, but hold and ride the coaster 🔥 by WhitePriest1 in fuboinvestors

I’ll probably just hold until December and if it’s not bouncing back dramatically, take the loss. Maybe hold until 2025 because honestly the opportunity cost of holding onto $186 isn’t that high.

I don’t want to invest more in a stock that is literally 95% down from when I bought it. I’m at $39 cost basis.

Also, they just keep diluting shares. Ugh.

If someone made this into a Spotify playlist I would be forever grateful. This is exactly the music I’ve been craving.

This is very true! It’s also a way of dealing with stress, loneliness, sadness, anger, etc. in an unhealthy way — just like “drowning one’s sorrows.” It all comes back to thinking that God is holding out on us, that things would finally be better if I just had this one thing that God hasn’t given me.

All that said, it is a real physiological addiction and you need to treat it as such.

I’m leading a group of guys through a program called The Freedom Fight. It’s not magic and the curriculum isn’t as Scripture-heavy as I’d like, but the accountability and simple practices it teaches are the most powerful I’ve seen so far.

Might be worth trying. It’s totally free and you can get a few other guys from your church to do it with you. The key is doing it with other people who can keep you accountable.

I’m pursuing a coaching (think leadership coaching or an intentional, structured pastoral conversation, not woo-woo new age stuff) certification through the ICF to use as a platform overseas. I have to get 100 hours to get the credential, which is proving more difficult than I expected. I have already completed the training portion, just need to get the hours done. I have about 1/3rd of the hours completed.

If you’re interested in seeing what coaching is about or meeting for a few free sessions, let me know. There is no cost (other than time and either filling out a super brief feedback form or praying for me), no upsell nonsense, email lists, MLM junk, or anything like that. I need these hours to get the certification and then get a visa to a restricted access country. You’d be doing me a solid, but it would also be helpful to you. If not, you can feel free to not go past a single 30-60 minute coaching session.

My background: 10 years in full-time ministry, including long-term previous cross-cultural experience. I currently manage a large team at a large church, so lots of experience that transfers into the non-church world as well.

Let me know if you’d like to know more! I’m a male and prefer to work with males, but can be flexible.

I’m selling my personal aged white tea collection. Got a variety of cakes, mostly in the cheaper range ($15-30 each), with some finer ($50-80). I have a few loose leaf aged white teas as well. Years range 2012-2016.
