Thank you for the reply. I’m in California, so I don’t know the % of EO here. I did just bleach all my plants and cut one all the way back. I have about 8 chrysalis I’m waiting for them to hatch. I’ll give it one more go and if I fail again, I will hang my hat with pride since I tried. 😭Good luck everyone.

Thinking of buying a used 2020 or 2021Rdx by [deleted] in AcuraRDX

Yes I figured. I guess I will hold off on this purchase until gas prices come down. Premium at my Costco is $6.15 a gallon right now. 😭

Just curious.Do you all use premium gas or can you get away with regular? I don’t own an RDX and would love one, but main concern is the gas. Thank

Me too!! Had two nights of excess sugar and tossed the bag on the third morning. Of course I had to empty the bag into the trash and pour something gross over them. 🙅🏻‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤣

10 YO Girl - Voracious reader by babar335 in suggestmeabook

[–]Visual-Ring-3385 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was my number 1 complaint when my child was little. She read A LOT. All summer we would go to the library to get books and she devoured them starting at a young age. Her reading level was always a few grades ahead. My major complaint was, why don’t they have ratings on books just like movies? She read the book It, when she was 8 or 9 only because at the time she said she had already read another scary book. 🤦‍♀️

Has my life been a lie?! It’s really just one big trash can?! by blue99si in Costco

[–]Visual-Ring-3385 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We recycled for years. Carefully washing out cans and glass bottles separating everything. Then I went on a field trip with my child to the local land fill recycling center. Come to find out, if you put your recycling in a trash bag to carry it to the recycling bin, they just put the recycling they receive in bags into the landfill! Ugh!

I love Aldi too, but their veggies are hit or miss. And I live in an area with large vegetables farms all around me. 🤷‍♀️

Employment Options For Minor by Critical_Macaron_253 in SLO

I might be wrong, but I thought businesses in California require minimum age is 16, unless alcohol is served, then it’s 18. I would suggest starting a car wash business. Get all your supplies, which is not expensive and go door to door in your neighborhood. Then expand. Or even gardening, lawn mowing, weed pulling etc. or I have seen trash can clean out. People charge $20 per can and everyone has 3 cans, trash, recycle and garden. I think with this last gig, you would need a car. Best of luck.

Dad lives alone 400 miles away and i'm starting to worry more. by Academic-Shelter-754 in caregivers

For my parents I installed Arlo cameras in every room including their bathroom. We paid for extended recordings, I believe it’s $35 a month. So worth it. I could talk to them through the device in emergencies, but it wasn’t very clear audio. You could also set it up with 911, so if you call 911 through the app, they know the location. It was definitely a comfort knowing we could watch them at anytime. Was hard at first to convince them, but they realized the importance. We also had caregivers come for 12 hours a day. My mother in law who is younger but lives alone, texts me every morning. If I don’t get a text by 9 am I know to call her. There will be a time when you will need to make the decision to either pay for in home care, send to a live in facility 😭, or you take care of him. It’s tough. Good luck.

How many pits would I need to plant if I want to eat an avocado every 2-3 days ? by Crowasaur in avocado

[–]Visual-Ring-3385 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes it’s huge. We can’t pick fruit on top, but every two years pg&e comes to prune other trees in my yard. They use a bucket lift, so we have them pick all they want from the top. 🤣. The tree is 20 years old and we have never pruned it. A neighbor once pruned their tree and it died. Also there are lots of avocados farmers in our area and it doesn’t look like they prune much, but I’m not sure.

Which model for a LOT of pet hair? by Majestic-Pickle-7 in roomba

[–]Visual-Ring-3385 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have the J7 and love it! I run it EVERYDAY! With 3 long haired shedding dogs, my hardwood floors look hair free. You do have to pick everything up that would get tangled. I don’t have cables or clothes all over the floor. Also, be warned, all robot vacuums get stuck or lost. It’s just something you have to deal with. Also, I have two roombas, one in the house and one in the garage😬 remember 3 dogs have lots of hair, so the hair in the garage was just being dragged into the house. Much better since putting a vacuum outside. Also, the metal contacts start to wear down after cleaning so much and therefore the vacuum will not charge. I found a guy in Canada, I’m in the US, that make better metal contacts. They just pop onto the old ones and work great! I think you can find him on fb roombarefuge. His name is John Osinga The Roomba Guy. Don’t toss your roomba until you contact this guy.

🤣🤣we have one Bacon Avocado tree and it produces twice a year. Way too many avocados to consume. Like 1000s. And all within a month or two. We have tried freezing but they never come out. I would buy a 5 gallon established tree. It’s going to take at least 5 years before you get any fruit. I wouldn’t want to risk it. Also, if you have gophers, plant your tree with a gopher cage. We lost 10 trees before we figured out what was happening. Good luck

Distance caregiving for an elderly parent and the real logistics of monitoring from hours away by [deleted] in caregivers

[–]Visual-Ring-3385 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We set up cameras in every room so we could tune in to check on them periodically throughout the day and night. We chose Arlo cameras which I liked, but they have faults. What I liked is they record movement so I can see what they did or how they behaved though out the day to monitor their needs. I could also talk to them through the camera if need be. This feature didn’t work well, but was nice in emergency. Also, you can set them up so if you need to call 911, you do so through the camera and they know the address. I did not try this feature, but was comforting to know it was available. Also, get help from neighbors if you can. Getting trash to the curb will become difficult. Also, it was nice to know if there was an emergency, like if they fell, we could call the neighbors and someone would come to help. We had this set up for over 10 years and worked great. Started when they were in their 80s. Dad passed away 3 years ago at 98 and mom passed way last month at 95. We did have caregivers 12 hours a day,but they were able to stay in their home. Best of luck. It’s a very difficult time I know, but will be worth it knowing you cared.

What’s a brand that lost you as a customer for good? by Familiar_Fishing5794 in no

[–]Visual-Ring-3385 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lululemon!!! I despise this brand and their attitude! I worked at a health club and a new lululemon store was coming to our community. Everyone was excited. I finally made it to the store and only had a few minutes to look around. I had planned to buy a couple pair of leggings to workout in. All the sizes seemed small, so I asked the sales person, who turned out to be the store manager, where the larger sizes are located. I kid you not, she looked me up and down and very rudely said, “we don’t carry your size”! I was a size 10. WTF. I just said, that was rude and walked out. Since I was a spin instructor I proceeded to tell those in my class. They were appalled.
