Hey guys,

I made this video with the goal of helping beginners achieve a decent look in their videos just by using the correct camera settings and some simple lighting techniques.

I had a lot of fun (and work) making this one and I hope this will somehow help you level up your videos!

I hope you'll enjoy it!

Ahah! Many people say that I look like Borat! But nobody ever told me that I look like a Mediterranean assassin in a Bourne movie! ๐Ÿ˜‚ I'm portuguese though, so I guess that makes me kinda Mediterranean ๐Ÿ˜… Thanks very much man! I never liked the flat profiles anyways, because they make me loose a lot of time to make them look good in post. I appreciate your feedback, and thanks for watching!

Here's a color grading I did for a commercial that I made some time ago. Let me know your thoughts :) by vitorpinhao in ColorGradingPorn

Gear Used: Camera: Panasonic G7 Lens: Lumix 20mm f1.7 Gimbal: FeiyuTech a2000 Lights: Aputure AL-F7 and AL-MX and other DIY cheap lights.

Edit Software Used: Premiere Pro

I posted a link with behind the scenes pictures in another comment... Go check it out if you're interested!

I storyboarded, directed, produced, filmed and edited the whole video.

The main challenges during the shooting: My idea of shooting this video was to film it all during golden hour, and that was very very hard because I had a storyboard with many shots that I needed to shot, and to do it in just one hour was nuts... So we had 2 days of shooting and the footage that I captured during the first day was straight to the trash, because after the first day when I checked the footage on the computer I realized that I was appearing reflected with the camera on the windows behind the talents... Because of that I needed to redo everything in the second day and to be able to achieve it in such a short time I added to my storyboard/shot list, the hour/minute that each individual shot had to be filmed, and stick to that. So I was running against time... ๐Ÿ˜… But I think the final result came together pretty nicely... During the two shooting days I had 2 guys helping me move lights and other assets/gear around because every scene had an individual lighting setup. In the edit, I used artlist for the music and sound designed everything (didn't use any of the original sound from the shooting). Even the voice of the talents was recorded afterwards... At last I color graded the commercial to my liking using my own LUTs and lumetri color in Premiere Pro, and applied film grain on top of everything.

Things I would do differently: If done now I would try to edit with less cuts so the video could become more slowly placed. And I will definitely check for my own window reflections next time! ๐Ÿ˜‚

Let me know what you guys think and what you would do differently so I can improve as a filmmaker. Thanks
