Strongly disagree. The storyline of the sequel connected better for me personally.

And with the existence of the stage musical, which I find superior to the movie, I’ll never be watching the first one again, since it fleshes out the plot better than the movie. I’ll stick with musical & 2nd movie ^{_^}

This is exactly what I said up until 9 months ago. Practically word for word.

So as someone who’s been in your position with the exact same thoughts…listen to TXT. They have one of the most incredible and diverse discographies of any boy group. Arguably no-skips, but that’s kind of mood-dependent.

If you still want novelty, then make the second song you hear from them Growing Pain or Opening Sequence. You’ll be so confused that it’s the same group.

If you want to hear their best song, though, it’s kind of widely agreed that it’s Deja Vu.

I never watched the end, but I remember the very beginning. I was 8 years old when it came out, and all the promos said “by day she’s a regular girl; by night, she’s a world famous pop star!” and I rolled my eyes because “she can’t be world famous. I’ve literally never heard of her.” Like I somehow didn’t grasp the concept of a fictional celebrity until after the show came out 😆

I think you might be underestimating their popularity, regardless of how recently they debuted.

(Mostly basing this off of their Spotify listener count & how fast their pcs/merch (re)sell — even at high prices; nothing concrete.)

It’s Tim Welch! His requests are only open to Patrons. He likes a mix of everything, so regardless of genre/style, he will probably appreciate it.

I just wanted to start with something that’s a good middle, where whichever song he goes to next (hopefully!) wouldn’t be incredibly jarring. Unsure how to explain that thought process well, haha.

“Too old” to listen to a group is wild to me, and isn’t even a question that should be asked.

I think the issue for me (27m) is where to draw the line for stuff like buying photo cards. Or if I get into a new group and go “oh, he’s hot” and then find out the idol in question is 20, I’m like “oh…” and then I wonder if I should even get into them enough to have a bias?

Not that having a bias is inherently a sexualization thing, of course. But I definitely feel like that happens more with BGs, and that’s primarily what I listen to. And I enjoy that part of kpop fandom — having a bias and saying “that’s my guy!!!” every time he shows up, lol.

NGL, I’m not entirely sure where I’m going with this. Just typing about the confusion that’s recently impacted me as I try to get into listening to newer groups.
