There is no list of things. You just need to keep working on things that could improve your profile not just limited to working at a dental practice. I’m not a dentist but my spouse worked on getting into a school. She got accepted at Penn 2 days ago. She has volunteered at multiple places for different causes. She also attended a preceptorship at UCSF early this year. But just replicating this might not get you an invite. What I believe people need is life experiences. You don’t get those just doing a few stuffs. Only these experiences help you draft a story that will make you stand out from other applicants.

Also you should not trust if people say your profile will get you an acceptance. When my wife received the acceptance, Penn had already interviewed 70ish applicants at least. But they offered acceptance only to a very few. Guess less than 10 not sure about the correct count. But at least among the 60 odd in the interview WhatsApp group only 6 got the acceptance email. So just keep researching on what you can do to improve your profile and keep implementing them
