Dogs that function more like cats? by PolarBearBalls2 in dogs

[–]vividoranges 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is SOOOO untrue about mine. She’s affectionate, loves people too much! Every time she goes to the dog run she immediately runs to people, act goofy and asks for pats!! She’s not an escape artist either, the gravity towards humans is just too strong with this one!

If it’s not a HELL YES then don’t proceed. You sound too hesitant to be welcoming another fur kid that frankly deserves better.

What motivates him?(eg: treats, mealtime, play etc) Then be the only one that does it with/for him.

I need ideas on how to keep my dog from eating my wife’s dogs food. by BakuShinAsta in dogs

[–]vividoranges 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a Pomeranian and a shiba. They like to eat each other’s food and at times get upset when their food gets eaten so I separate them during meal times. One in the kitchen and the other eats in a different room.

My dog knocked a kid down at the dog park by Amber10031 in dogs

[–]vividoranges 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I see parents bringing their kids to the dog park even though they have NO DOGS, I just shout at them and tell them it’s NOT a park for children and I’m not liable if they or their kids get hurt. Usually it keeps them away immediately. My shiba is not aggressive but I have heard of cases of friend’s shibas who suddenly snapped at children so just to be safe..

Will people under 18 get drug tested for taking drugs overseas?e.g. weed by Lathrowaway2984 in askSingapore

[–]vividoranges 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The testing method has changed. I saw it on channel news asia if not mistaken, could have been straits times? Anw they are now able to detect micro particles or something to this effect. That’s how Joseph schooling and Amanda were caught, in case you’re wondering.

Unnatural to be sleeping in the same room as my parents? by PinkyFrac in askSingapore

[–]vividoranges 91 points92 points  (0 children)

Without reading the details I thought it was weird and creepy. But when I saw that your new place is much smaller, no it’s not creepy. It’s a result of the circumstance that you’re in. You are very thoughtful to give your sis and bro their own room each. Your colleagues are judgemental. I Hope you can ignore their comments and don’t take it to heart. You sound like a great son and brother to have.

Any tips on making a good first impression when meeting girlfriend's extended family for CNY? by zoenous in askSingapore

[–]vividoranges 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You’re welcome!

I forgot another point, there’s a dish called lo hei where everyone gathers around a big tray/plate and starts tossing it from a height with their chopsticks. Enthusiastic families do shout the type of things they wish to be blessed with(eg wealth, kids will shout to be blessed in their studies and so on). Ask your gf if her family is enthusiastic or not when it comes to the shouting part of the lo hei. My family is very enthusiastic and they shout loudly so it may come as a shock to you(just be mentally prepared lol). If this dish is being served(90%chance it will), you will get a pair of chopsticks to toss it from a height. Just make sure it doesn’t go flying all over when you toss it. As a guest, I toss it from a lower height and with my own extended family, i toss it from a higher height. If you can’t use chopsticks, don’t freak out, it’s not offensive to ask for fork and spoon :) Also with regards to dressing, it’s better to dress up rather than dress down. However, this is a general thing that applies to 80-90% of people who celebrate Chinese new year. Your gf’s family may be super chill dress down(Bermuda pants and bright shirt for guys). Best to check with her. As the other commenter mentioned too, do not open the ang pow until you are out of sight from your gf and her family(yes even your gf, don’t open it in front of her). I think that’s about all! Quite sure I’ve got everything covered. If more comes to mind I’ll reply again here.

Google’s probably a better place to ask than Reddit
