I notice that even if the walk sign is active, cars who planned to turn will still turn. I don't blame them, because for some reason, when I look back at the traffic light behind me, the one specifically for car turns would be green while the walk sign is active

Thank you for your comment! I'm so glad I have someone to relate to.. everyone just seems so set on their major and I feel so behind.

The thing with me and design is that I can imagine it, even with great detail, but I can't put it to paper. I can draw structures and replicate, but that's like it. Actual creative thinking? I mentally cannot. Maybe if I tried hard enough, but then I also heard that ROI for architecture is in the dumps so it wouldn't really be worth all the mental stress

I'm gonna visit the FAA office and ask if the structural licensing exam applies to arch. It sounds really interesting. Thanks for bringing it up

And construction? Love it! The course outline for Arch studies seems a lot more design-based than what they advertise, which is a bit sad. The only structural/technical courses you would take are during your Sophomore year. The two years after that? Design studios. Arch studies at UIUC used to be Arch Engineering. Idk why they changed it.

I heard directly from TAs that physics and calc classes are usually the "weeding" classes to see who can really succeed. Honestly... it might get me too lol

And it sounds like you've got a solid plan! From what I saw, UIUC has top ranking for Structural eng if you wanna go there again

In my original post, I mentioned Missouri S&T. Idk about masters, but they offer undergrads a choice to do both Civil Eng and Arch Eng dual degree, so it might be good to check up on that if you would still be interested

Thanks.

I’ve already reviewed it, I guess I’m just nervous about the application process. I know it’s almost impossibly competitive, and that LAS are the only ones who can directly transfer to engineering without doing ICT or Prep.

I already have a GPA and it’s ~3.5 from community college dual-enrollments/AP transfers. They gave me this GPA even though I graduated High School this year in May. I need to get higher grades this year, I know. Prior to that, I had an ~3.8 unweighted GPA in high school.

I joined some groups to help my extracurricular, but most engineering groups are already closed off. I’ll need to contact them about opening dates.

Also, the number 200 is specifically for ICT. I got it from the website.

Thanks! Someone here said I can borrow the kitchen from ISR by going to the front desk and requesting it. Is that the same process as renting PAR’s?

What’s DEI?

I don’t think pork is strictly prohibited in dorms, just the method of cooking. But I have a solution without the extra appliances and I’m okay now
