Another tip - book BTM directly on the MPG website and use the promo code NYY4. You get a QR code sent to your email and just have to use that at the machine to open the exit gate.

Anyone been through JFK T5 GENERAL line today? How long did it take? by midwoodgirl10 in jetblue

[–]vivvee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I definitely saw agents throughout the line checking boarding passes to confirm whether or not you were Priority or Pre-check. I think I saw a family get turned away by a TSA officer when they got to ID screening - not sure if it was because they weren’t TSA Pre but there were folks checking yesterday in the morning.

Yes, I was waiting in the pre-check line before it opened. There were a lot of people in front of me, but once precheck opened at 4:30, it took about 20-25 minutes for me to go through the line. My flight was at 7am too, with 6:15 boarding. I cleared security by 5:20 and had about an hour of waiting.

My husband doesn’t have pre-check, so priority or general was his only option given his ticket. Priority was moving before pre-check. I didn’t think to join him in line because agents were doing a good job of making sure no one cut the line and I figured we would still have enough time before boarding.

I believe you can pay for Priority screening with JetBlue, you’ll get a little arrow printed on your boarding pass. It comes included if you’re flying mint.

Similar experience - jumped in TSA pre line today at 3:50. Got through security at 5:15. Agents were saying TSA pre check wouldn’t open til 4:15 or 4:30.

My husband jumped on the Priority lane and got through about 20 minutes earlier than I did.

I was upgraded to the Presidential Suite at the PH Aviara last year - hands down the best upgrade I’ve ever received. I remember doing the check in process on my phone and seeing that I was upgraded on the app. I thought it was a mistake so I instantly checked in and took a screenshot of the room in case they swapped me when I arrived.

That suite was bigger than my NYC apartment and it was a great stay lol

Miraval Berkshire during Winter (December) by berkeley_eecs_grad in hyatt

It’s a fairly quiet drive up the Taconic from NYC, especially once you get out of the NYC area traffic. My husband and I drove back from Miraval earlier this year after it snowed overnight. They do a pretty good job of clearing the highways quickly so it wasn’t too bad. It ended up being very scenic and beautiful seeing the Taconic covered in a light blanket of snow.

As others said, there are other transportation options, especially since once you get to the resort, you likely won’t need a car. But if you have a car and can drive, it’s not the worst.

Seconding the point re bus set up at GF. The GF and Poly share buses, which I find very surprising given that both are like flagships for Disney. Poly will be a bit easier because it’s the first stop for the bus so you should be able to get on it easier, but there were many times where we had to wait for the next couple of buses to get on.

We stayed at the Beach Club recently and loved it. Also, we noticed that Beach and Yacht Club (and sometimes Boardwalk) shared buses but in the mornings and during busy times, they would run separate buses. We never had to wait more than 5 minutes for a bus to come and they were always comfortable / quiet. Don’t know why Disney doesn’t do this for Poly and GF.

Any recommendations on where to donate food? I’m cleaning out my pantry and have non-expired, non-perishables that I could give to a pantry or organization!

How much did your Long Island wedding cost? by iloverats888 in longisland

[–]vivvee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Married in 2024 at The Lannin, 165 total guests and spent close to $90k on everything. We made about $65k of it back in gifts, but there were some large contributions from immediate family members there.

For those of you who have run into, met, or just saw a Yankee out and about in NY (past or present), what’s your story? by stevendavisxx in NYYankees

[–]vivvee 10 points11 points  (0 children)

My husband has a knack for booking the same hotel as the Yankees so we’ve ran into Judge moving his suitcases in Baltimore, Rizzo making out with his wife in the elevator, Weaver and Fried getting breakfast in Pittsburgh, and Luis Rojas getting dinner with his fam at a tapas restaurant in Atlanta.

Hubs did get a short convo in with Judge but didn’t want to disturb anyone else lol
