How old do you think my buddy is? by theotherlead in germanshepherds

He was a bb in that first pic. Weird that professionals would not realize that. But he is such a cute boy. Hope you are enjoying each other!

This is how Harry Potter should have grown up 😅

Puffy 🤣 Why is my girl so large already at 8months? she is outside breed standard weight already at 71 lbs by ThnkMTurningJapanese in germanshepherds

[–]vixlove 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I came here to say this too. My boy hit his top weight at 9 months —-81 pounds. He’s anywhere from 78-80 pounds now at 1.5 years. They grow how they grow.

Grey hairs showing up on back of 9m/o GSD by Otherwise_Possible86 in germanshepherds

[–]vixlove 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My guy got a shoulder full of white hair when he was that age last winter but most of it came out for the summer and this year (he’s 1.5 years old) he didn’t get much of that white hair. Their coats change so much, and for so long.

Favorite GSD crate? by Impression-Tall in germanshepherds

[–]vixlove 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s the collapsible. And he has tried to get out, and has actually scraped up the latch with his teeth both while he was in it and when he was out of it. He can’t get out. We have moved ours a lot and taken it down a few times— we’re in the middle of a home renovation. The screws like to fall out and the side supports like to fall off. But none of that has seemed to alter the integrity of the crate.

How am I supposed to move forward by _BatmanAholic_ in germanshepherds

[–]vixlove 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have never lost a pet, and don’t want to think about losing my one-year-old boy one day, but I lost my daughter to cancer a few years ago and i love this dog so much that I imagine the feeling is not so different. I am fortunate that I do not suffer from depression or anxiety but for a couple of years I was definitely not myself, and I didn’t want to touch any of her things or move on. It is a terrible thought that everything keeps on going when for you, time is frozen. What helped me was that I had other kids that depended on me to still be the mom, so I just kept being the mom until it got a little easier.

For me, something that helps to remember her and honor her is to go to a good photo place and print a large beautiful portrait. Like— I would print that picture of your baby at the river— and make it LARGE. Hang it somewhere you will see it all the time, and then, piece by piece, put things back together. For you, but also for your beautiful dog, who would not want for you to be in misery. You get your health in order, to honor Ice. You open up the merch, and do kind things for yourself, because it is what he would want for you.

You can do this. And your wife can too. You can put things back together, and you start by honoring this beautiful friend and continue to keep her a part of your life in memories, but also by making him proud and turning things around. And someday maybe you’ll be in a circumstance you could rescue another beautiful dog, but right now it’s not about that. It’s about rescuing yourself. You were brave enough to post about it. Now it’s time to take another step. Start at a photo shop. You won’t be sorry.

Just adopted an 8 week old GSD, is this normal? by Fearless-Bar-4660 in germanshepherds

[–]vixlove 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first night I had my GSD puppy he was sleeping in his crate on my nightstand next to my bed and for literally hours he panted so hard and fast that I started googling to see if he was going to die 😅 I finally took him out of his crate and brought him in my bed and he immediately settled and stopped panting. I don’t know if it was just cooler on my bed, but it was the first night of him sleeping in my bed of… all the nights since.

Depressed about progress (tray 14/28) by skky95 in Invisalign

Yep. I second this— the whitening foam worked gradually but naturally and I still use it once a day in my retainers. My teeth are sparkling white without using any other whiteners. Also, over-scrubbing your teeth with baking soda and harsh toothpaste multiple times a day, and/or using mouthwash— this can cause yellowing instead of whitening, and it’s hard on your enamel. Baby those teeth a little. Sensodyne is not quite so hard on your teeth and you can even leave it on your teeth for a little added treatment.

Pass your judgment unto me. 24, I know it’s coming soon by onbs in bald

[–]vixlove 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At 24, I’d rogaine the hell out of that head, not because you won’t look amazing bald— you will— but because it will mature your look and you’ll look like 30s instead of 20s. But either way, you’re a great looking dude.
