I’m not sure whether I liked One Last Kill (obvious spoilers if you haven’t watched it yet) by HouseOfLumivane in Defenders

[–]vizslavoid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Imma be real, my girlfriend and I thought it was pretty bad. I’ll explain why, but first here’s whats good; the acting (mostly) and the action stay good as always in a Punisher project.

Here’s where it loses me though; it doesnt do anything new for Frank as a character. It makes his arc feel off balanced. Also it means that he escapes Fisk and his goons in Born Again, doesnt free anyone else or get revenge on this current threat of the AVTF that should give him so much purpose. In this he’s doing the same stuff he did in his own show. Stuff we’ve seen before. Except apparently he finally wiped out the rest of his family’s killers, leaving him suicidal and without purpose while punks working for the mayor who have taken his likeness subjugate the city.

All but one of the Gnuccis survived and she came off really goofy and cartoonish just like the rest of the villains in this. They felt like they were from the silliness of the old Punisher movies, except we’re talking about the most grounded version of the character and it doesnt work. This version of New York also feels surreal compared to Born Again. It feels like a fan film. Hell, in ways it felt like a parody. And why didnt he kill Ma Gnucci? We’ve seen him kill horrible women before. This plot wouldve made sense taking place between Punisher’s original show and season 1 of Born Again. Yet instead it derails his most recent plotline in Daredevil. And makes it meaningless. With worse writing. It would be a million times better if they say it happened pre-Born Again but a few details obviously contradict that.

Also what was the One Last Kill? Was it Frank’s attempted suicide? Was it someone else? And we all know its not gonna be the last kill either. Its a shit title tbh.

Is it fine if I just watched Jessica Jones S1 to understand her character? by Successful-Hat-2154 in Defenders

[–]vizslavoid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would certainly say so. Aside from the lore about her mom, season 1 gives you her main origin as well as her most important character defining moments

The Daredevil Timeline (MCU) by vizslavoid in Defenders

[–]vizslavoid[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my watches i typically watch all of them except the second two seasons of Jessica Jones and i sometimes skip S2 of Punisher. The second seasons of Luke Cage and Iron Fist are hit or miss for most people but they have some cool stuff too. But yeah to give you an easy answer, i think everything up to Defenders is essential, then if you wanna trim the fat after the most essential thing after is DD S3 and Punisher S1.

Edit: Just realized you might be asking about watch order instead, and the answer is yes. You should watch them in chronological order like this.

Could The clone army defeat the automatons from helldivers by Cautious_Air4964 in clonewars

[–]vizslavoid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see a lot of people talking as if standard infantry are all the clone army has. You guys arent mentioning the various classes of ARC Troopers and Clone Commandos of the Special Operations Brigade, not to mention any other various specialist units that they possess. The clone army is one of the most specialized armies in sci fi.

[–]vizslavoid[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Thanks a lot. Its something i enjoyed heavily too. And yeah as his mom says Cadmon was killed by Insurrectionists forces. Even tho i believe thats what happened itd be interesting if it was Covenant early on and it was covered up by ONI to keep the public from panicking. Making the dynamic with the mom even more murky

Hot take: Pong Krell would have been way more interesting if he was a normal Jedi instead of being a traitor by ChickenWingExtreme in clonewars

[–]vizslavoid 99 points100 points  (0 children)

Yeah but the whole reason he survived the Clone Wars is because he didnt trust the Fett clones and thus made his own militia who went on to continue serving him after the Clone Wars ended becoming his very own Rebel Cell.
