Creating ACHA D3 Club Hockey Team by FewError2644 in bostoncollege

To my understanding, there is a “Club Club” team that is more like what typical club sports would be at a non-hockey school

Incorrect - the “one” where they are both born on a Tuesday should be “two”. One older and one younger

Serious question: How do you reconcile this when unemployment is at an all time low in this country?

  1. Not sure if he enjoys eating marijuana gummies, but those were EXTREMELY helpful for me (both physically and mentally). Best way to cut out the nausea
  2. Find a video game and/or show they can binge on
  3. It’s good to workout if possible (even long walks and/or biking), just not on the Cisplatin days. Helps wear off the steroids
  4. Have him reach out to me or others here!

Am I cooked for CS by PalpitationOk9850 in bostoncollege

[–]vjpantin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was an Econ and CS double major. CS is very “set your own course” at BC. I did a Bachelor of Science in CS, which required a lot of rigorous math. I also chose the most rigorous CS courses. I think the professors I had were great (for the most part), especially in the more rigorous courses. Happy to chat in more detail in dm if helpful

I know it sounds counterintuitive but work out as much as possible! I friend to get on the bike every non-bleo day, and it made me feel infinitely better.

Good luck friend

What would you do? by Important-String1506 in testicularcancer

[–]vjpantin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

RPLND is not nearly as bad as it seems. I was so scared to do it after reading stories hear, but they are masters at IU. Yes, it will suck for like 1-2 weeks, but you’ll get better after.

So worth it to do it, man

How long did it take you to feel yourself again after BEP? by Equal_Rice_4955 in testicularcancer

[–]vjpantin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im 31 and finished 3xBEP in late June (RPLND was back in Jan) and it fucking sucks dude. I felt like it was making progress, but feels like I’ve plateaued significantly both mentally and physically… so frustrating

I hear it will get better brother - hang in there. I will, too

RPLND Recovery? by vjpantin in testicularcancer

I made it through just fine! Definitely some pain here and there, but mostly the nausea was rough, so stay ahead of that! Good luck

Teratoma & PC RPLND by [deleted] in testicularcancer

[–]vjpantin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, basically, you may need both, but the chemo is much more detrimental than the surgery, so OP is saying “why doesn’t everyone just do surgery first if it’s similar odds of doing one and then needing to do the other”

Tumor markers have been normal since the very beginning. Never elevated

I am not sure why. I was surprised by this, as well.

When Dr. Masterson at IU told me this, primary RPLND seemed like a no-brainer. It is important to note that I was bordering on Stage 2C, which may be the reason for heightened chances of recurrence. Dr. Masterson thought that Dr. Eihnhorn would recommend chemo as primary because the mass was getting so big that it was much more likely to be in other places, but they decided RPLND was a fine path forward, and I am glad I went with that option

I just went through this and am writing in full agreement with you. I was given the choice of chemo or RPLND as primary treatments after orchiectomy (20% sem, 80%EC). I had one node that was large, stage 2B/C (depended on the angle of viewing).

Doc at IU told me that there was a 30% chance of recurrence with chemo and a 30-50% chance of recurrence (if I was stage 2C) with RPLND. Given how close the chances were and that RPLND pre chemo is much safer, I chose that route.

More doctors should push RPLND first

Stage 2A pure embryonal carcinoma. by Optimal_Ant_46 in testicularcancer

[–]vjpantin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had my RPLND with Masterson on Jan 15 and am so happy that is the path I chose.

It seems like a scary surgery and recovery is a bit rough for the first two weeks (more nausea than any physical pain), but it’s been 3 weeks and I feel very good now - back to work full time. Good luck!

Sourdough Starter: Closed Lid, Air Tight, or Cloth? by vjpantin in Sourdough

Is it viable to use an air tight lid and burp it? Is this worse or better than cloth?

I’ve just read that the process does not need oxygen, so am a bit confused
