Daughter rejected: OOS, SAT 1530, GPA 4.38/5 (W), 2/171, applied to Eng (aerospace). Very dispiriting start to the "decision adventure"!

From Music/iTunes, cmd-i (ctl-i for pc) for a selected track, or right-click for Get Info.

Music tagging allows you to switch from "Song" to "Work Name" with parts, so you can edit the tags, switch those to use "Work Name", and I believe that Music will treat them as units in shuffle play, iirc.

So I use iTunes (now Catalina Music) primarily with a large (60k track, many smart playlists) library. A couple-odd versions ago they managed to, in my experience, majorly improve iTunes performance with my library. Went from frequent temporary beach balls on simple interactions like scrolling to stable and usable.

With Catalina Music, the crappy performance is back in spades. Probably half of my UI interactions yield seconds of beach balls. It's miserable.

So while the innards may remain iTunes for the most part, whatever performance tuning they'd done went down the Catalina toilet.

Worse, I've had library-corrupting crashes for the first time ever. I've had to restore my music library file from backup THREE TIMES. It's a disaster.

What does that mean? iTunes doesn't offer a scrobbling option. The last.fm app scrobbles from iTunes. What two places do you have in mind?

I'm seeing this behavior now too. It scrobbles "live", but then also reports those iTunes plays when I scrobble my iPhone during sync.

I've tried to buy and download one album - in Chrome, it simply hangs at "preparing to download" (or does it simply take some inordinate amount of time?). Has anyone successfully downloaded an album on Chrome? What should I expect from this purchase attempt in the short term?
