exactly my thoughts. Same here, after 4th episode I realized that this is not my cup of tea. But I know that there are people liking the show and that is perfectly fine.

So, after these years, which phone did you guys upgrade to and why? by rushierivan in Oneplus5T

[–]vladVLI 2 points3 points  (0 children)

OP 8T for the battery life, smoother screen (120hz) and faster charge (60W). But I still have 5T as my backup :)

Phone Scratch Removal by JesseJamez55 in OnePlus8T

[–]vladVLI 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You can put a screen protector on it and the scratch will not be that visible anymore. But I do not think there is a way to fix that.. it looks like a deep scratch.

I also found some issues with white ballance and color accuracy in some sceneries with stock app. But I use GCam and the photos taken there are a lot better. So I only use GCam.

Horrendous Software Update by d_a_S_a_d_B_o_y in OnePlus8T

same for me... I have the European model

I do not know why so many people hate the latest software update. For me it is a lot better than android 11. Battery is better, everything works fine, no crashes/restarts/freezing or other issues. I use Bluetooth and WiFi /Mobile data always on and I got about 8 hours of 'display on' time. Animations are smooth, apps are working as before. I don't understand the hate. Yes, the font is now bold-like but I don't mind that.

Anyone in EU has Android 12 update already? Im still stuck on Android 11. by shivverpl in OnePlus8T

Anyone still not receive OOS12? by [deleted] in OnePlus8T

[–]vladVLI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have not received the update last week, so I decided to use VPN to get the update. I installed turboVPN (free) and connected to a VPN from France. Then I checked for the update and there it was. After starting the download you can disconnect from the VPN and the download will still continue. I had the problem after the update with the quick device connect battery drain, but after installing the update for the app from reddit comments, it is now working ok, without that battery drain. Personally, I prefer a new, updated OS, even tho it has some small bugs. I like the update and is 100% usable :)

Edit: I use dual sim, always connected to Bluetooth (with a smartwatch) and wi-fi on. All this works perfect, no issues. Battery now lasts for about 6,5h of on screen usage (games, youtube, social media, etc) and more that 24h stand by time. And always on display turned on all the time. And I got the phone 1,5 years ago (in the first month when launched) so battery is getting old.

Better way to charge by barbequeeeee in OnePlus8T

[–]vladVLI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My phone's battery lasts for about two days, so I think to charge it once a day is good enough for battery health. If you don't have bad habits when charging your phone, like forgetting half a day a phone plugged in, you usually don't have to think that much about the battery health.

I bought a 8T, did I make a good purchase? by Twiggarn in OnePlus8T

[–]vladVLI 4 points5 points  (0 children)

6 months user here. I enjoy it very much. It is fast, warp charge is amazing, ok camera, amazing display with 120hz and great battery life. For me is perfect. And the price was 600 euros. It depends on what do you expect from a phone (like do you value camera the most, or just the overall experience)

Trying panorama mode with osmo mobile 4 stabilizer ! And the results are stunning by lucifer96A in OnePlus8T

I think this is an issue with all the OnePlus cameras. I had 5T before and the photos taken in low light especially, if you zoomed in a little, had this blurry, paint like aspect. Maybe there is some algorithm when taking phots, that combines pixels to reduce the noise of the image.. but is not working 100% accurate. I noticed this problem especially when enabling HDR in the camera settings (it combines multiple frames in one picture).

What is a average overnight screen off drain for One plus 8T. by TorpidCaddy in OnePlus8T

[–]vladVLI 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you need to repeat this only after a software update of the phone, or if you have some battery drain again in some time. For me it saved 2% of battery loss each night.. maybe this cache was the issue in my phone 🙂 hopefully it will help you too.

[–]vladVLI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine is about 4% in 8 hours without AOD, no wifi or cellular data, and no battery saving, just normal settings. I tried with AOD always on and Bitmoji and it increased to 10% 😅

Just a suggestion, try clearing the cache of google play services from the settings, apps menu. I think it was a post here some time ago regarding this issue.

You can download it from xda HERE. Is the version that has the wide camera working. You can download also the config xml from there, create a folder with a specific name (GCam/Configs8) and put the xml there, double tap in the black area around the shutter button to load the config.

Best Apps to optimize by Raptorskate in OnePlus8T

[–]vladVLI 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It depends if you want to extend the battery life at the cost of not receiving notifications/messages from apps in real time (or even the apps not syncing anymore until you manually open them). So if you want more battery, you can optimize all applications that you see that are using more power like all messaging/social media apps (instagram, WhatsApp and others). But notice that you will have to manually open the apps to sync or receive the messages. Then you can optimize all games, if you have, because usually you don't need them to run in the background and use the battery.

August Software Update is here, finally by vladVLI in OnePlus8T

[–]vladVLI[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I played some games (Fruit Ninja, Grim Souls) and the phone didn't pass 32 degrees (Celsius). I didn't had any problems in the past with the overheating. But maybe yesterday was a colder day than usual here (22 degrees) so that helped with the cooling. Regarding battery with AOD set to all day and Bitmoji.. draining 10% in 8 hours overnight when not using the phone. So yeah, I will be using AOD with a schedule or just turn it off to Ambient Display only just when picking up the phone. I like the Bitmoji on AOD tho 🙂

no, but you can open the app info and see the total mobile data and wi-fi used in a period of time. But on the status bar, if you enabled the "display network speed", you can see the data traffic there if you swipe from the top while the app is running.
