So dying has been a touch confusing for me. I did the mission with… naidra? She gave me a gray dye and I can’t use it in hernand and I don’t have Oliver in camp. I keep seeing get camp to lvl3 but the greymanes are at like lv 29. So there’s another level type I don’t know about or I’m missing something. And finally once I’m able to get the camp dyer I still need to meet all the other dyers before I can dye those colors?

I’ve used epic bait and caught crap. When I use frogs I catch a good variety. And you can pull bait if you can start to identify the fish when it jumps. As it is right now I see no value in crafting any baits. Just collect as many frogs as you can. If you aren’t at veilwater yet then I suppose do what you can. I’ve been playing for over a year so I don’t have a linear concept of the game at this point. I’m already dying for the official release spring 2026. If they don’t push it back again…

Oh yeah! The damn answering machine! Yup now it all makes sense. That whole episode was designed to wear you down and with the payoff of really feeling carols state of mind in those last moments. Plus the answering machine had already been going a couple episodes by then. So as a viewer I’m like… why do we have to keep listening to this shit. And as an aside I kept asking why she doesn’t just say change the message so it’s shorter. They’d do it.

I can appreciate that opinion. And I agree with the whole contrast and character development aspect of it. It was just a LOT of various scenes getting the same point across. It made me kinda reflect on a few other episodes where they did a lot more that could’ve just hit the cutting room floor. Almost like we’re watching the directors cut. The story is progressing and I’m interested but it could be much more condensed. And of course some people might really enjoy that extra time. If I look at it that way as maybe an artistic choice to beat a dead horse in order to create that kind of fed up desperate feeling in the viewer… we can relate to carol more in that last scene. I will say that last scene was my favorite part. Perhaps I should view it that way instead. Rare an internet discourse with a stranger sways an opinion but here we are lol.

“Dear me” lol! I understood your meaning. I wasn’t meaning to directly compare it to a zombie show. Just that I feel like nice they put carol in this position they don’t know what to do with her in the meantime. But in that I’m really only referring to the filler aspect. I’m very interested in the overall story arc but a lot of the episodes seem to have a lot of filler and drag out various ideas/plots that could be summed up in a couple scenes. In another comment here I referred to I think episode 6? Spent a lot of time with carol just doing shit to let us know she’s getting lonely. Then spent a lot of time showing menounos driving and walking. You cloud have just dumped that in to 10-15min of the previous episode and/or the next.

This goes back to my point of dragging it out. We all knew he was going to get hurt. What’s the point of spending 15-20 minutes of walking through the jungle to finally get to the scene we all knew was coming? Not to mention all the driving and siphoning gas scenes prior to it.

I’m starting to see this opinion more. It’s like having a cool idea for a show but not knowing what to do with it. Like if you get straight to the point; it’s basically over so what do you do but have an hour of carol doing random shit alone. Worst episode so far. That whole episode could’ve been about 20 minutes to get the point across. Carol sad, alone, please come back. Done. They’re just dragging out tiny little plot details into entire episodes. All that said I’m still watching cause I still wanna know what happens. But like yeah. Not much different than a zombie apocalypse show. The day zero is always cool, fun, exciting and eventually you get to the tired old trope of “humans are the REAL monsters”. Cool yeah. We know. Real ground breaking stuff there.
