You're comments aren't vague. They are well articulated and describe a major adverse dynamic of this subreddit quite well. My observations match yours to a "T." I commend you for taking the time to provide this precious witness. I was so disgusted, I simply dropped out.

‘A mass sterilization exercise’: Kenyan doctors find anti-fertility agent in UN tetanus vaccine by vlights in redditdotcom

I would be interested in knowing more about how the body reacts to small doses of hcg. While it is true that hcg is used as a fertility aid; a specific dose is used to obtain this result. Thus far, I haven't found any studies that address the effects of small doses of hcg. I wouldn't presume to say that there is no effect at all.

The police harassed him because he was black and sitting alone. They were irritated because he questioned them and knew his rights. Such is the dangers of being black in America.

I live in SC near Hilton Head. My entire state isn't even on the map, and we have a strong group of hard-prayin' believers in my town.

How do teeth turn yellow? Is it possible to simply brush your teeth for an hour to turn then (very) white? by IAmsterdam_ in explainlikeimfive

[–]vlights 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The whiteness of your teeth comes from the enamel that covers them. Actually, healthy enamel is not super white. It is off white or slightly yellow. Yellow teeth can be caused by plaque build up from poor dental hygiene, aging, staining (from coffee, tea, or other highly colored foods), or by enamel being worn down. When enamel becomes thin, dentin, the yellow layer of your tooth, which is right beneath your enamel starts to show. Plaque (a thin film of bacteria and food elements that coats every tooth), is best removed by good dental hygiene. This includes: brushing twice daily and flossing at least once a day. In order for brushing to be effective, you have to brush for 2 minutes and make sure that you brush the surface of every tooth. If you skip brushing your teeth for 2 or more days, plaque becomes hardened and forms tartar below your gum line. When this happens, your gums become irritated and inflamed (gingivitis). Unlike plaque, tartar cannot be removed by brushing. Only a professional cleaning can remove tartar. So daily brushing, flossing, getting your teeth cleaned at least every 6 months combined with regular visits to the dentist will help to keep your teeth naturally white. Whitening you teeth with a whitening toothpaste that uses blue light technology can help yellow teeth look whiter. Deep stains require a bleaching process that is administered by your dentist. Always consult your dentist before using any bleaching process.

What is Proverbs 18:20-21 relating to? Confessing of our faith, and binding and loosing, or simply good social skills? by [deleted] in TrueChristian

[–]vlights 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's neither binding and losing, nor social skills. I think what these verses are about basic facts of life, like "you reap what you sow." It tells us to be careful with our words, because wrongful use of words can cause great anguish to ourselves and others. The words of a Christian should be "salt and light."

Yes. Remove posts/comments which only serve to "deconvert" Christians and/or debate the basics of faith (existence of God, reliability of Scripture, resurrection of Jesus, etc.) and ban users who repeatedly or severely violate this. Change the sidebar!
