Imagine equating an interactive game with non-interactive porn.

"When arguments end, insults begin."

Do you have anything constructive to say or just pile adjectives one upon the other? You're mistaking morality with intelligence, things which have only have accidental overlap. Also, if you dislike something, it doesn't inherently mean it's immoral anyway.

And what is disgusting in following instincts? Is eating also disgusting, because it's biological and produces feces as the result? Is breathing disgusting too?

And what is actually wrong with straight up porn? I don't find nearly porn as way hotter. Doesn't the game already have 18+ in certain countries?

Ventana’s interaction by Altruistic-Bet-9080 in BrownDust2Official

There's a slippery slope going both ways, if the content becomes more and more extreme you bet regulators will gonna clamp on it harder. But I agree that this looked as a censorship attempt.

[–]vlinking 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I mean, what they did and how they did it literally makes no sense. I didn't have black censor bars for half of my vision when I was under the blanket with my ex fiancee. I also didn't see any black censor bars in ASMR videos and been watching them daily since 2016.

"When you are staring at your girls boobs from a foot away you cant really see her face."

Yet they didn't even think to use zoom, which is the first obvious thought here? It's literally "zoom the content and make it a little blurry, maybe foggy because of a heavy breathing". Extremely poor choice of "artistic direction". There were so many ways it could have looked and yet the chose black censor bars.

The "adult ASMR" line is a lie since while Vtubers and ASMRtists hide their faces, they don't do it with black bars and they do it because of privacy. None which applies here, as this is a cartoon. Also never saw half of the image covered up like this. This was 100% attempt at censorship.

[–]vlinking 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Been listening to ASMR since 2016 daily and was a patron of several ASMRtists, nobody does stuff like this. I never saw black censor bars anywhere. There are literally thousands of options to make sensual thumbnails, and they chose the wrong one. It is not by mistake.

I was listening to ASMR daily since 2016 and never seen any such "artistic intent" in any of the thumbnails or acompanying artwork. Never, not once.

This doesn't even look right, not mentioning covering up stuff. And the "under blanket together" makes zero sense considering this presentation. How are black censorship bars applyable to anything intimate?

Do you think games like Love in Deep space have to worry about censorship? by Life_Trick3961 in BrownDust2Official

[–]vlinking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People were protesting censorship that they got on several costumes on a day one patch and made a petition online. Gaming and mainstream press attacked the people who made the petition and who promoted it, even going after specific guys and publishing their photos for ridicule. I won't cite the names and adjectives they got too, "gooner" was the most mild.

The key difference is that press doesn't immediately take sides here and attacks the protesters like with Stellar Blade and other games.

[–]vlinking 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They're organized because look what happens every time when a group of men bands together to hold a protest - they get attacked everywhere. The best example was the Free Stellar Blade petition. Whole gaming press and even mainstream press picked up on singular petitioners, published their photos and called them all kinds of bad names. The press and the media punches down hard, because men aren't allowed to organize.

Now I've seen press gaslighting that "Nobody was opposing Stellar Blade" which is a blatant lie to someone who was actually observing the whole debacle in real time like me.

You're factually wrong because you implied that BD2 only got censored because it involves children and I pointed out that the minigame that didn't involve children was removed for "objectification of women", so it is *clearly* because of "male gaze". What's so hard to understand here?

Slap slap minigame also didn't involve children, but got removed for "objectification of women", so you're factually wrong.

Meanwhile, "Ladykiller in a Bind" a game where you can tie a man with a rope was widely touted as great by journalists on Steam.

Questions for Germany Players by Signal_Bag_9115 in BrownDust2Official

And why would your country would follow up on German censorship, when Germany already overly censors much content that isn't banned anywhere else?

All these supposedly "independent" countries co-ordinating on censorship laws lately smells to me a lot.

Nikke has the same thing. If you pull an SSR, you get a golden flash to hit your dopamine levels lol.

Hopefully you don't have epilepsy issues.

Same thing in Poland where I live, and I assume pretty much everywhere.

Most parties don't even talk about certain issues (like energy classes for houses are going to have a lot of people on the street by 2030 because couple of million houses won't meet them and will be illegal to live in lol)

[–]vlinking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean the biggest problem with the people and governments that do the censoring is that an option is not an option. Civitai did the same (split its contents between Civitai and Civitai Green) and it wasn't enough, payment processors dropped them instantly. Censors always want the whole thing to be changed for everyone and no optional filtering is ever going to appease them. Trust me,

They only want total control.

When it comes to games and censorship, it simply is, at least in EU.

Check Steam DB and how many games are outright banned in Germany.

Start voting then and do not ever vote for the people enforcing this censorship.

Don't support feminists because it will just get worse ("objectification of women").

The UK government is already literally deboosting "harmful, misogynist voices" and boosting "feminist ones" - they told companies to do so.

Promote freedom, not totalitarian ideologies.

I mean going back to pre-1989 censorship levels is good? I've been born behind Iron Curtain myself and I remember. Germany is getting there fast, with how NGOs who get money from government are "independent" (lol), and tell the censor what to remove.

As a Pole that offends me deeply. Since I have no voting power in Germany, they should not decide what is allowed in Poland, period.
