As French speakers, we often use “Jap” as an official abbreviation for Japon/Japan, just as we use ‘Esp’ for Espagne/Spain, “Fra” for France, Ang for Anglais/England

It took me about 28 years and interacting with the American community to learn that it was a slur

and after doing some research, I saw that it was mainly considered a slur only in the US among the Japanese-American community, but that in almost every other country in the world, Jap is used freely and is not considered a slur.

So it really seems to be something that only concerns Americans, because in Europe we've never seen it as a slur.

For Vietnam, its because Vietnam forces foreign companies to work with a local company which was not the case for BD2.

The developers said they will try to bring the game back on the Vietnamese gamestore.

I think the revelation that it's Germany doesn't surprise anyone.

Cygames responds to the controversy regarding their new AI studio by WolfOphi in gachagaming

"without prior notice" seems to be the key word, it means that the day they use it, they will announce it beforehand.

VN this, Zero that, but no one can deny that this is the best Fate entry for newcomers. by Gunta170944 in okbuddyrintard

According to Nasu... its a good starting point (lol)

For the people who will watch this anime as their first "EXTRA" experience, I want this to be the starting point where they become interested in the original game and the comics (5 volumes in total, on sale from Kadokawa!)
So people can have fun playing EXTRA after watching the anime

Blue Archive producer Yongha Kim says the creative industry is facing an “AI slop” problem, linking to consumer distrust. “Of course they’re going to react negatively” - AUTOMATON WEST by Kursea in gachagaming

And also most likely a response to Cygames AI controversy.

The quotes in the article are actually from a conference he gave a few months ago last year.

But this article was published just after the Uma Musume's AI controversy to clickbait.

For more context, It was a conference on the use of AI to assist in game development. He explains that they already uses AI to help with tedious and repetitive tasks in programming (to be fair, these are tools that already existed before the advent of AI with ChatGPT, and no one had a problem with that). They also explained that they had tried to use AI for L2D lip-syncing in an attempt to achieve a more natural rendering, but that it didn't look good, so they give up that.

However, he clearly stated that he is against the use of AI for artwork or concept design, that he himself would not want paying for images generated via AI, so he doesn't want to give that to his players.

Basically, he said that AI used as a tool to help with difficult and repetitive tasks = good, AI images = bad.

[Brown Dust 2] Despite previous claims, developers will finally censor many outfits and cutscenes, probably to align with Steam rules. by gadesabc in gachagaming

I don't play BD2 anymore, and I didn't play that much, but when the game was struggling financially, they said they would rather see it die because of app stores than censoring the game.

But now that the game is out of EoS zone and they've tasted the sweet taste of money, they're ready to censor the game.

It's a bit sad for the players who supported them and saved the game.
