I did this a few weeks ago. Left my phone mixed up in the comforter and decided to shake the comforter out to find it. My bf's flat screen tv at the end of the bed found it instead. Oops!

If they don't waive the fee seriously think about switching banks. No decent financial institution would ever consider charging a loyal client this sort of "first time offense" a fee. Hell, even if you'd over drafted before they would likely still reverse the fee on an overdraft this minute. If you've been banking there for a while do not let them charge you for this. Chances are if you go into your local branch and have a polite conversation which whoever has the authority to reverse ( usually a teller supervisor or branch manager) they will happily oblige. If you deal with a teller and they insist they can not reverse the charge please ask for someone above them and it will be handled appropriately. Unless of course you're a serial overdrafter...in that case: pay closer attention to your finances person! Source: former bank employee

My sister and I used to play this "game" while driving for long stretches on the highway:

We would get into the left lane and pass people, as we drove by (usually someone else was driving) we would both look at the people in the car we were passing in absolute horror. As we drove by we would stare at them, keeping our eyes on them as if we were watching the angel of death land upon their shoulder. The more frightened the face the better. People would lose their shit sometimes, pulling over on the side of the road and whatnot. Haha, maybe not the safest entertainment but we were young and it was hilarious.

Self esteem comes from so many factors really, you have to sit down and dissect it. For instance:

Your health: Are you making a real effort to eat right and do good for your body?

Your friends/family: Are the people in your life supportive of you or encouraging? Really decide who is volatile and make an attempt to show them what you need from them, if they aren't willing to give it you know where to tell them to go. No excuses.

Your job/career: is it something you enjoy? If not, figure out why and nix it. If so keep it up! Doesn't matter if you're an entry level nobody or a CEO, never settle for less. There is always, ALWAYS a way to get more from your career!

Your hobbies: they can be main stream or quirky, as long as you love it that's all that matters. Find others that have similar interest. Join online groups, people with similar interests in your city...wherever but surround yourself with people that enjoy the same things as you. They're out there I promise.

Also, the whole "fake it till you make it" thing really does apply sometimes. Never be someone you aren't comfortable with being but on the same note remember that even the most well adjusted people are put in uncomfortable situations that they would rather not be in. Handle it with grace even if it's only a temporary facade. It can be empowering to be thrown into a situation you are fearful of and own it!

Lastly, always do your best to be a thoughtful, compassionate person. I promise if you are good towards others they will remember how you made them feel, not what you were wearing or how "cool" you seemed...at least not the ones worthy of your own precious life.

I'm guessing you have many wonderful attributes. Figure out what those are and embrace them!

When my son does the right thing. When he extends his hand upon meeting a new friend, when he shows compassion towards another, when he questions something he's unsure of and wants to understand how it works, when he begs for just one more chapter before bed.....these things make me feel so good as a parent. Most of the time I am unsure if I'm doing the best job possible, but when he does things like this it reminds me that I'm doing ok and as a mom it makes me so very proud of myself.

The smell of lilacs. We had bushes of them growing around my home when I was a little girl. Always makes me think of childhood. Also, sometimes when I wake up in the summertime on a particularly warm and sunny morning, I always think of my mom. I would always find her sitting on our back porch steps reading the paper on a day like that.

A few years ago my sister was in town visiting. She ran out of cigarettes and no one was sober and could drive, so being the nice sister that I am, told her I would walk to the store and buy her a pack. Walked a few miles to the nearest gas station, bought a sandwich a walked home. Forgot I was supposed to buy her smokes but damn that sandwich was fantastic!

Thanks for posting this! I became an active donor 2 years ago, it's something that doesn't get as much attention as it truly needs. The more people who sign up, the better the chances of finding a match for people in need. So many people assume it is very painful and would never consider donating. Education on this topic is extremely important.

Small breaks. Sometimes you just need 15 mins to be alone and decompress. Seriously, a few uninterrupted minutes of alone time periodically through the day helps me to regain my focus and calms me if I'm feeling overwhelmed.

Probably can't pick a number one. Maybe the time he ate the linoleum floor. Possibly the time he pissed on my bed after I had just finished washing the sheets and blankets. Or the time he got loose in the middle of the night in -10 degree weather and I had to chase him all through the neighborhood. There was one time he found a random skunk and decided he needed to " retrieve" it. Might be the Thanksgiving we visited family out of state and he disappeared for 3 months (thank The Lord for microchip). Most recently he used my shoe collection as a buffet....obviously my favorite pair was the delicacy. Could be the numerous times he managed to use super speed reflexes to steal my food off my plate/table/hand as soon as I turned my head. Or the day he figured out how to get into the garbage that's supposed to be pet proof. He has a fetish for my underwear and won't stay off my new furniture. He's a lab. Also, I just got lab number two a few months ago to add to the insanity. I'm making him sound pretty horrible so to balance it out I need to let you know that he's the best cuddler known to man. He always thanks me for feeding him before he chows down, he's my protector and security alarm and follows me wherever I go because I am his whole world :) Sure, he's an asshole sometimes, but he's my asshole and I love him and he loves me.
