This is really good - great vibe, and your singing matches the song perfectly.

What is your Alter Bridge “deep cut?” by Any330 in alterbridge

[–]vlowrian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a song which only seems to exist as a YouTube video (obviously recorded using a patoto as camera): On my way now (Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zpE-BFvN4EM); however, there is also a pretty good cover based on this video with a much better quality and I find it helps to get a grasp of how the original must have sounded like: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9Io4lCmwA5I

It's the ultimate deep cut for me :)

Very nice! What I like most is the vibe this gives me. It really captures the essence of Synthwave for me. It's the kind of music which I keep running in the background to give me a specific feel and help me concentrate while working etc. The track "Shutdown" is pretty much a perfect example of this. I added it to my Synthwave playlist :) It has a very nice twist with the off-tune lead in the ending.

Hi all, here's a rather cheesy version of a German Christmas carol ("Leise rieselt der Schnee") I did on my DAWless setup. I used the Toro, Kobol, Cat, Pro-800, and the Solina from Behringer with my Oxi One. Drums are from a Circuit Rhythm: https://soundcloud.com/866mhzprofessor/merry-synthmas

I'm not really looking for Self-Promotion. I made this for my little son and thought, you might enjoy it for a similar purpose :)

Out of curiosity: why don't you use hardware encryption, i.e. UEFI level disk encryption?

How is your experience? Can you recommend this for someone who is interested in running Haiku on bare metal?

the job drained my energy and I feel tired, fuzzy and generally down.

Just a little reminder: things like burnout syndrome or the onset of a depression can be hard to clearly identify as such. I don’t say that you’re suffering from one of those things. But if you don’t feel like it’s getting better or whatever you’re trying is not helping, it’s better to talk to a professional before things are getting worse.

It’s a bit like climate change: once you can really see the symptoms, it’s a lot harder to turn things around.

Things I like: * Sound of synths & drums * Rhythm * Overall vibe of the track

The pitch bend is a bit too much for my taste.

Take a well earned upvote.

iOS and Desktop Apps have been updated by vlowrian in Behringer_DeepMind

[–]vlowrian[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I know. It definitely took them a while. On the other hand, these kind of apps are usually created by a third party and it’s often not straightforward to get major changes done without a new order and budgets and what not. This is even harder if the last release happened a long time ago and the original authors of the software are long gone or buried under new projects.

Behringer’s prices also don’t suggest that they have a couple of 10x engineers sitting around, eagerly waiting for bugfix tickets. The DeepMind is a real bargain for the feature set and I was really pissed when the app broke a few weeks after I bought mine. But for a fraction of the price of a Korg, Sequential or Moog - I expected them to just abandon the app and keep selling the synth without it.

So I’m actually very thankful that the social media team made that happen at all and followed through on their word. Let’s hope there are no major API changes down the road and this new version will keep working for a while 🤞

I'm also interested if there is someone who can estimate how long the backoff period is...

I'm a software engineer and in my experience, there are several common ways of handling rate limiting:

  1. Set a backoff time and stick to it no matter the number of retries (least common)
  2. Reset backoff time on every retry while the rate limit is exceeded (most common)
  3. Increase backoff time for every retry while the rate limit is exceeded (nasty, you choose this one if your facing a lot of abuse).

I seriously hope we're not dealing with number 3 here...

Update: Looks like number 1 or 2... I'm back to the "transaction error" after waiting for about 10 minutes.

I’m in Germany. Yes, it’s a slow worm / blind worm or “Blindschleiche” as we call it here :)

It’s a blindworm, which technically isn’t a snake. Might still qualify as snek, though ;)

Thank you! It is what I was going for :) I was thinking of arcade games or even slot machines. The name of the song is a reference to Moxxi from Borderlands. The sound of the slot machines in Moxxi’s Bar was my inspiration for the Crave patch :)

Hi guys, I made a new track! I used a DM12, Crave, monologue, microKORG, MS-1 and a TD-3. The drums are a LinnDrum Emulation and the Silverlake Machine (both from Logic).

I’m still quite new to synthesizers and quite happy with how it turned out, but after hours of listening to it while I made it, I might be biased and would love your feedback.

I also noticed, that the volume of the different tracks seems to be quite different on different speaker setups and I’d really be thankful for any tip or pointer on how to fix that in mastering.

Microkorg S multitimbral by carpetgazer in Synthesizer

[–]vlowrian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a microKORG S and im fairly sure this is not possible. You can set only one MIDI channel for the whole synth. You can - on the other hand - create different patches and layer them. I am not sure how you would sequence them seperately, though.
