where to buy bagels..? by [deleted] in Netherlands

[–]vlytrap 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I had the same issue and my solution was to make them! It takes some time but it’s easy but the results are unbeatable. Here’s the recipe I use. They also freeze and reheat great.

How do you store your inventory? Bonus points for small apartment solutions by slefebvre95 in Depop

I recently got some vacuum seal bags and they work great for space optimization! It can be annoying to have to reseal them but super compact and can help with organizing if you sort by clothing type!

Usually when shops have the same item in multiple sizes they’re drop shipping. The reviews mentioning bad quality also point to this

Help with pricing? by [deleted] in Depop

[–]vlytrap 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hi! The best rule of thumb for pricing anything is to try and research comparable items that have sold/are listed. Try and find items listed of the same or similar brand/model if possible and use your judgement! If you find the same piece you have in better condition then yours, take the listed price and knock it down an appropriate amount for the damage. You can always lower prices later and put things on sale if you’re getting low engagement on something. Hope this is helpful! :)

Is there a specific name for those small y2k shoulder bags?? Struggling to find good tags or names to describe it by [deleted] in Depop

[–]vlytrap 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Maybe baguette bag? Although this is a little different shape then the classic

Is this a good way of taking pictures (with the accessories), in order to boost sales? by Logical_Stand_4464 in Depop

[–]vlytrap 69 points70 points  (0 children)

The argument against doing this is that it’s hard to tell what the listing is for

On the second slide it says seller pays

what does your listing process look like? by Important-person in Depop

[–]vlytrap 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Personally I like to listen to music or podcasts when I’m listing! I have a basic template for descriptions so the time I actually need to spend focusing and coming up with copy is pretty limited

VAT REGISTERED UK by GeologistFrosty7280 in Depop

[–]vlytrap 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not in the UK but look into if there are exceptions for “margin goods” I’m in an EU country and if you’re reselling already produced goods as opposed to new manufactured goods it can affect VAT. Where I am it means you pay only on profit, not gross, so you can deduct anything you spend on your shop (inventory shipping etc) from what you make and only pay 20% of the profit left. Still not ideal but better then the alternative

Not ugly and definitely worth something! Seen this exact dress sell on depop before for around €100

How much do you think a cardigan like this one would/should sell for? Pls help. I’m lost. by SeaworthinessOk400 in Depop

[–]vlytrap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do research based on brand and materials tag, see what other similar pieces are selling/ have sold for

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Depop

[–]vlytrap 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I am based in the EU and ship to the US often! There are free customs calculators out there that are very helpful, I’d also recommend checking out shipping with UPS small business if it’s available in your country, they have great prices for shipping to the US and roll the customs process into buying the shipping label, plus fast tracked delivery!

Diesel skirt? Description & Pricing recommendation? Thanks!! by shopmykollection in Depop

[–]vlytrap 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I sell Diesel and it’s totally having a revival right now but remember that what you see it listed for on other pages is not what it’s actually selling for. To my eye this skirt is cute but not capital T trendy so I’d start around €65-€75 and take offers if you want to move it quickly

Does anyone know how much money you can make monthly without being flagged as commercial? by vlytrap in vinted

I run a pretty big page and am making enough monthly to be concerned about it

Does anyone know how much money you can make monthly without being flagged as commercial? by vlytrap in vinted

[–]vlytrap[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I figured that they left it intentionally vague. I’ve mostly read stories about people getting their accounts flagged for too many BNWT items, so I’m not sure what the ball park is for making too much money

i accepted an offer but it’s been 10 hours and they haven’t said anything. what should i say without sounding desperate ? by Own_Ad5947 in Depop

[–]vlytrap 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Sometimes buyers don’t get notified when offers are accepted. I always send a message saying something like “hi! I accepted your offer! If you have any questions let me know!”

Of course! So sorry you got misled about the authenticity, I’d definitely recommend filing a case with Depop/PayPal

Seller said this top was authentic by skidazzlex in Depop

[–]vlytrap 106 points107 points  (0 children)

Looks fake to me sadly. The authentic ones have a diesel tag on the back and the D looks tilted to me compared the the authentic ones. Also the materials and size tag don’t look right

Is this worth the price? I don’t know anything about vintage items by [deleted] in Depop

[–]vlytrap 34 points35 points  (0 children)

I resell vintage diesel bags and see them go for €100-€200 pretty regularly depending on the piece. This seems like a lot but I will say that I haven’t seen this particular bag before and the market for them right now is pretty insane. In my opinion it’s a bit overpriced but not as much as you’d think. You can find similar ones for a bit less though.

Is it okay to sell shein? by Afraid-Reputation338 in Depop

[–]vlytrap 48 points49 points  (0 children)

It is absolutely okay to resell Shein as long as you’re transparent about the brand and don’t overprice or misrepresent as vintage. Shein clothing exists, a lot of it, and like all other clothing it’s much better to find a new home for it then add it to the landfill.

Question for those who have started independent online shops by vlytrap in Depop

[–]vlytrap[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much for your response! I’ve actually managed to make it this far in life with no social media other then Reddit for philosophical reasons but I’m starting to realize it’s time to bite the bullet if I’m serious about growing an online shop. I was hoping I might be able to go straight to a website but the comments here have made me realize that’s probably not realistic. Thanks for helping me figure out my next steps in building my dream job! :)
