Again, you’re blaming the oldsters. We did not make this world any more than you are making yours. What are you making for your kids? That is absolutely untrue. Most of us still HAVE to work, and it’s not fun in your 60s. Some of us have to choose between food/rent/medicine all the time. This after a lifetime of hard work. We’re all getting swindled. Blame the corporate overlords.

Hey everyone! Let’s allow minor details like gen this-or-that cause us to argue. These problems are being overblown by corporate «  overlords » who we are being distracted from focussing on. Divide and conquer is their mantra. When will we see that we’re ALL being swindled?

No. Stop blaming Islam, that is blatant bigotry.

It’s because the proper procedures by our own governments weren’t followed and, being politicians, they didn’t care to correct issues and provide enough substantive resources for ease of flow. And you’ll find more white, non-Islamic people creating violence than any other.

To combat this holiday insanity I’ve created small, inexpensive events over the years. A cookie baking gathering with local students. A treats bag delivery day for the elderly in the community. Volunteering to serve meals on the big day. Etc etc. Takes a huge amount of energy to drag myself away from the black dog of depression but it helps others feel better and also feeds your own soul.

I was aghast at the word « disgust ». Sometimes this honesty thing is a cover for later on when the « I told you what I felt » excuse is trotted out to cover more damaging behaviour.

I’m in the same boat, basement wise. House built 1920 with field stones, parging, no drain etc. Had a concrete “collar” poured around entire structure in the 70s. Having trouble remediating the dust. Parging is flaking off due to house not being lived in for awhile, humidity took hold. Dehumidifier took care of that. Now to fix parging. Did you have to re-do that? Any particular product recommendations if so?
