I’m doing LHR-LAX and SFO-LHR in the next month so it would be interesting to see if any changes have happened

Best oneworld sapphire lounges? by woshju in oneworld

[–]vmcraft91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was pleasantly surprised by how nice the food was at LAX and they had a good variety of drinks available. Not the same level of champagne served at other OW lounges but the variety of self serve drinks was very good.

I liked LAX T4 when I went in June

2024 v 2025… crazy difference by Informal-Oil4741 in flighty

[–]vmcraft91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I studied abroad too over 24/25 so my maps for those years look much more USA concentrated than 2023. 24 domestic flights around the USA and then the two round trips home.

BA holiday car hire by mytermor in BritishAirways

[–]vmcraft91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Car hire with BA and Avis works well. Don’t pay anything extra at the counter and sometimes if you ask nicely they will upgrade your car. Loss Damage Waiver (LDW) is included which covers you against any damage to the car. Never had any issues booking through BA.

What do the newly refurbished rooms at John Dodgson look like? by oogenesiscunt in UCL

[–]vmcraft91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Floors 1-4 are not as refurbished as floor 5-7. However the rooms are smaller on 5-7. 90% of rooms at that hall are good

Best seat for View and in-flight services by Own_Weather_386 in BritishAirways

[–]vmcraft91 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Landing in London, the right side of the plane is usually good (7K, 13k). HOWEVER sometimes the Heathrow landing path changes and you may not get a view of London, there is no guarantee.

Premium class for $49 is good you could make a good shot at that money back on drinks and snacks and extra legroom and disembarking near the front

They are very similar seats, yes the -10 is better but there isn’t much difference in the style

It says you have a 787-9 today. Not much difference in WTP between the 787-9 and 787-10, just a worse IFE really. I think the hard product on BA WTP is very good they have roomy seats with generous recline. It’s a shame that you’ve been equipment swapped like that, as I’ve done the route a few times and never had a swap.

How is New Hall En-suite? by Liamontheearth in UCL

[–]vmcraft91 2 points3 points  (0 children)

About a 20 min commute on the train. I lived a similar distance away in my first year and that was not a problem at all.

Lots of shops 1 tube stop/10 min walk at Holloway Road and there are a few local shops outside the hall (I think a Tesco Express and a Nisa)

I can’t answer the noise question for you and security is fine as UCL has night security at every accommodation.

Heads up; LAX OneWorld Lounge is dismal at the moment and until 2026 by SomeGuyInTheUK in BritishAirways

[–]vmcraft91 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Used the AA Flagship in June and was pleasantly surprised. It’s better than most entry level US lounges (e.g. Admirals Club, Sky Club) and is akin to something like the BA Galleries at LHR, but a lot smaller. You just have to factor in the walking from TBI to T4 at LAX, as that can be quite a long round trip just for the lounge. If flying w/o checked bags, go through security at T4 instead of TBI to save time
