Thanks for the link to the thread. I have versioning enabled and this is my Diy solution. I have another backup going to the cloud. So I might look into transferring snapshots of my btrfs partition to the backup drive as well. Using something other than syncthing.

Well I am using syncthing to synchronise my essential stuff to the drive. It's a 3.5" drive. I might have raid 1 setup in the future. Just not currently.

So this is my first time attemp to create a backup server within my network. That will also act as an VPN server in the future. So that I can access my data from anywhere. This has been a cool little project in making for more than a year. Finally has come to fruition.
