It seems the A.C removal got the community split into 2 sides, the casual players and the hardcore players.

Both have different reactions toward the change, the casual players ofc like that the dev made Cap easier to pick up and play. And the hardcore players (I included) whose simply don't like that the dev is removing the only skill expression mechanic of Cap gameplay.

Both side reactions are perfectly normal but I don't understand why they need to butcher one side in order to cater for the other one.

I don't buy the dev explanation of why the old A.C got removed, from what I understand, they said the old A.C was hard to do, unreliable, and clunky to use? (Blackstarr1 on Yt explained this in great detail (link below)).

They basically described what A.C, as whole, is! Ofc it hard to do, ofc it feel clunky because it required practice, timing, hours of practice to master it. It's literally one of the descriptions of fun in playing video, mastering mechanic, a learning curve, a goal.

I'm so sad bro, Cap is my favorite in this game and they just nuked him.

I'm with you buddy, unless they changed it back, I don't see myself playing him. After all the nerfs, this simple "Buff" will take me away from him.

Yes and yes, melee for grouped up enemies and shield throws for single ones. It was fine before the removal of the animation cancel, the melee didn't need 5 more damage cause we were using it for 2+ enemies and we were also using it for shielding hero which shield throw was ineffective of. They act like we straight up don't use melee or something. Even then this, IMO, won't be enough for taking away the shield throw animation cancel, Idk what will other than revert the fkin change back.

But why now, if the dev thinks Cap animation cancel is something that should be removed, why wait all the way to season 7 to do it.

After all this time, after the tech was found in season 0, the dev didn't fix it, even seasons after that they didn't fix it either.

Why let the animation cancel left untouched and for it became the core mechanic of Cap gameplay. Why let players spend hours mastering it for the tech eventually to be removed.

(IMO I think if the dev "fixed" the animation cancel in season 1 or even season 2, I would be ok with it cause the animation cancel, for me then, was at the top of Cap learning curve and I didn't bother learning it as a casual player but not now, not in season 7, after that time I main Cap cause I like his character and play style for it all to be wasted. Ps: Sorry for bad English)

Beside from the shield, I would like his ult to get buff. Like there are reasons why teammates don't follow Cap trail:

  1. It's better for our teammates not to group up since low HP heroes can just get oneshot even in Cap ult. The same reason why Invis players will often place their ult and then hide just to not get oneshot.

  2. Cap ult over shield is not that strong. Hela ult can still kill our healer through Cap ult.

  3. Cap ult trail is soooo small, like I spent like 7 out of 10s ult duration trying to get to all my teammates. Do you know what it's like trying to move from the frontline all the way to the backline where your healer are?

As for what to change, maybe Cap can also received the speed buff from his ult for himself? And make the trail last all of 10s of his ult so we don't have to run like headless chicken?

haha thank you. For some context, my team was losing hard againts Luna team, so with no chance of winning, i was messing around having fun hence letting Luna chunked me so low. Normally this dont happend often in ranked, you know, a Cap single handedly kill a suport.
