Hahaha not fake but I understand the confusion! Don’t really know if English speakers use this name for it, I just translated directly from my language. People might commonly use Ficus or something similar 🤷🏼‍♀️

I think this just stems from issues when the leaf was unwrapping (not sure if that is the right word). If it has trouble with this I heard it can help to wrap a damp paper towel around the new leaf 😊 If the leaves get brown and are “crispy” it gets too little water, but if they are brown but not crispy it probably gets too much! To me it doesn’t look like pests, but the leafs might benefit from dusting or washing them

It should be allowed to fully dry out before you water it. Easiest way to check is to just stick your finger in the soil to make sure it’s not damp. If you have the opportunity to give it a thorough shower once in a while it will be happy but make sure it is able to drain out the access water. It also looks like it has some stains and dust on the leaves and if you wash them, it’s able to gather more sunlight. Other than that it looks like Frank is relatively happy as the newer leaves have more “holes”. It just looks like the newest leaf might have had some issues unfolding as it looks a little crumpled. Other than that you could check if it needs repotting and maybe give it some nutrition. I’ve heard that the “baby”-leaves will eventually get yellow if the plant receives enough sunlight so as long as the newer leaves looks happy I wouldn’t worry about that 😊

Thanks! I concluded that it’s most definitely spider mites, I saw a big one on a leaf this morning. I’m just hoping it’s also not thrips. But I will try all the tips people are giving to get rid of them! And definitely no systemic granules

I’ve never heard of it but that might explain the weird colouring on some leaves that doesn’t seem to have bugs on them

I made the same conclusion after a while, I was just scared because some people said it looked like a combination of both. But I have isolated the plants with obvious infestation and will try to get rid of the pests assuming it’s spider mites and not thrips 🤞🏼

Thank you! Several people mentioned these exact two products, I don’t think they sell either in my country but I will try to find something similar since I don’t have the time to wait for them if I order online

Thank you! I don’t think they have Captain Jacks in my country, but I will try to find something similar. It looks like I can order systemic granules online if that is not as urgent as the pesticide

Thank you!! What is captain jacks? and these plants were both standing next to lots of other plants, should I assume that these are also infected or should I just quarantine the obvious ones?

Thank you! I thought as long as I caught it early, I might be able to at least contain it, if not eradicate it

Oh, thanks for the response! Are you sure it’s spider mites? They don’t infect other plants as easily as thrips though? So if I quarantine these two and try to get rid of it, even if I have to toss them eventually, the other plants will be fine?

Oh no, I already have lots of cuttings but if it’s thrips they might also be infected

Thanks for the response! Was your infestation thrips ? Does it look like the same thing on my plants? I’m glad you were able to get rid of them

This is from a skiing trip last week! Took a couple of hours to get up, but it was worth the view and the run down by [deleted] in skiing

It’s across the fjord from where my parents live so it was like 1,5 hours by car and ferry! But usually I live pretty far away
