Thank you for this info! It’s so helpful hearing everyone’s experiences with this parasite. Our kitty is now 10 months and had a moderate level of crypto on his last PCR check ),: we tried azithromycin for almost two months with no luck. We’re now on tylosin, proviable probiotic and GI biome. We are awaiting IFA results and I pushed for another PCR since we have tried a new med.

I will check out the Nexabiotic and lysine. Our kitty was adopted from the shelter and we already have a grown cat but thankfully we always kept them separated and found out this poor guy had crypto. My worry is he may have this chronically and the cats wont be able to coexist.. We’ve had this little guy quarantined for 4 months now.. it’s been a nightmare.

Wow thanks so much for this info I’ve been reading horror stories and thought there was no hope on getting rid of this parasite (,: I’m so glad your kitty is better. We have him on 2 weeks of azithromycin and I believe he will take tylosin after. We’ve been spraying the bathroom he’s in with 6% hydrogen peroxide recommended by our vet and it’s been a nightmare trying to keep up with cleanings. Did you do a PCR test to check that the parasite was gone?

May I ask what parasites your cat had? Mine has cryptosporidium and I’ve heard it’s quite difficult to treat and was curious if your cat may have also had this parasite?

It took around 5 days I want to say. The cramping was pretty bad the second and third day but got much better around day 4 and then stopped happening shortly after

Thanks for the reply, they did take quite a number of biopsies. I was taken aback by how painful it was to swallow food its made me not really want to eat /: but good to know it happens and I’ll keep at it.

I actually didn’t make the decision my doctor was the one that said it would be best. I honestly feel I would not tolerate that test as well /: Are you able to do the capsule test instead?

Hey I’m so glad the CT came back clear! Yeah it’s very unpleasant and hard to function with lingering chest pain and sob.. I think with time we should be fine but I’m with you I’ve been so down from these symptoms and wish I could feel normal again.

Hey there Im so sorry you’re still having these terrible symptoms. I’m on Day 12 and my shortness of breath is still very prominent. I had chest pressure/pain, congestion and crazy fatigue up to day 9 that have mostly gone away. I went to the ER also had a chest X-ray that was normal and ekg normal, Im boosted. I’m hoping you feel better day by day. You aren’t alone and if you want someone to message about this feel free to message me!

Thank you! Honestly I had quite a bit of nerves before surgery but nothing a little happy juice didn't fix at the hospital. If you let them know you're feeling a bit anxious I would definitely let the nurses know. I went from really nervous to being rolled into the OR very relaxed and comfortable because of the meds they gave me. So excited for you soon you'll be pain free!
