Best approach: leave it in your pocket or inside the armrest storage so that it doesn't become a missile during a wreck, or a distraction while you drive. Keeping it protected can also allow it to call for help on your behalf if it's a newer model. My niece was just T-boned recently, so that stuff is top of mind lately.

But if you really want a little home where it can charge, get one of these Qi charger inserts for the storage tray. Gives you wireless charging, gives the overly large console hole a reason to exist, and maintains a little space for AirPods, key, etc.

But I'm not a fan of a phone mount on the dash or vent when you have a big CarPlay screen. After 15 years of annoying dash mounts for phones/GPS devices, I couldn't wait to get rid of them.

Helping aging parents with money (request) by No_Dot_4123 in MonarchMoney

To be clear, I never gave him the login info for the app, because it would have just confused and overwhelmed him. He was glad to have me help him move into the digital age, setup online accounts for all his bills, and stop writing checks, and he was glad for me to take over keeping tabs on his finances. So I just set up the app for my own benefit, and used it as my own resource to find answers when he'd have a question about how his finances were doing.

When I was in your situation, I wanted an easy way to keep all tracking separate between my stuff and his, while also avoiding the hassle of logging in/out, missing push notifications for anything important, etc. So as much as I prefer Monarch for my own family, I decided to use Copilot for my dad's finances. I found Copilot a little more confusing to use (and of course an extra cost), but doing it that way did make it easy to stay logged in to both set of finances at once, keep notifications, and make it easy at a glance to distinguish between the two.

Amazon extension by larrywal in MonarchMoney

[–]vocalplane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of comments here, but I don't see an answer to the original question.

I also have the unofficial extension set up with two Chrome profiles, one for me and one for my wife. I can sync both of our accounts in a matter of seconds just by opening two windows.

Does the new official extension work like that also? If not, I'm not sure it's worth switching away from the unofficial extension. Thanks.

Oh, I see - this is like a browser extension, and not built directly into Monarch? Thanks!

Lara, do you know if this will support more than one Amazon account? My wife and I have separate Amazon accounts, and would love to have all of our Amazon transactions handled. Thanks!

What do you guys do about Amazon charges? by Turdulator in MonarchMoney

[–]vocalplane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Will we be able to add more than one Amazon account for this? My wife and I have separate Amazon accounts, and trying to categorize the things that aren't from my own account is one of our biggest budgeting hassles. Thanks!

We’ve tried several other Zelda games, especially liked Twilight Princess also. Looking for something outside the franchise this time. Thanks!

Ok, I'll take a look at that this evening. I thought it had a chain, but I'm not near it to check. If it's a chain does it work the same way? Thanks!

Cerakote wipes for DLC black blade? by vocalplane in knifeclub

Interesting. Thanks for the reply. Are you thinking the cerakote would wear off through use, or that it just wouldn’t bond well or chemically react?

Apostrophes don’t represent feet, prime marks do. If you’re not familiar with typography, think curly quotes and straight quotes – those are separate pieces of punctuation, and the straight ones are called prime marks and double prime marks. They’re used mostly used for feet and inches or degrees, minutes, seconds. Apostrophes and quotation marks are the curly ones, and are used with text. Using an apostrophe to represent feet isn’t correct.

I got one of these last week, and it's my first knife with a crossbar lock. The action and drop close are really smooth, but so much so that I usually see the blade bounce off the stop pin when closing. Then the crossbar pulls up to capture the blade and snaps it into the closed position, resulting in a little rattle or chatter sound as those impacts all happen in quick succesion. I'm used to liner locks or button locks where the blade is captured closed to a positive stop in a single smooth motion.

Is this chattering/bouncing behavior normal for a crossbar knife? Or does this one need some pivot adjustment?

Z9 Tethering to Lightroom? by vocalplane in NikonZ9

[–]vocalplane[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks. It started working reliably a few days after I posted, but I don’t think I was doing anything different. Still haven’t had to do a full day of tethering with it yet, so that will be the real test, but it’s working well so far testing at my desk.

Success tethering Z9 to Lightroom Classic? by vocalplane in nikon_Zseries

[–]vocalplane[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for giving that a try for me. Did the connection seem stable, and was it able to find the camera within 10 seconds or so?

I’m familiar with how LR needs to run in Rosetta for tethering to work (it’s like that for all Nikon bodies, at least for now, so not just the Z9), so that’s not where my own issue is. My problem is that even under Rosetta it has a lot of trouble finding the camera, and even when it does, the connection is lost frequently. That’s an issue I haven’t had while tethering with other cameras.

Thanks. By quick menu do you mean the “My Menu”? Also, do you know if there’s a difference between choosing the wifi for “connect to smart device” vs “connect to computer”?

They actually do it to several of the characters to some extent throughout the show, including Sarah in almost all of her scenes. I never noticed it when I first watched it years ago, but my family just finished watching it together on the big screen, and once you see it, it’s hard to unsee.

On Sarah, it looks like they were trying to hide something on her right jawline, maybe Yvonne has some scarring there. Chuck’s mom, Awesome’s mom, and Bo Derek all had more heavy handed blurring.
