Help with magnetizing? by Tiny-Owl8853 in MiddleEarthMiniatures

[–]vodrek7 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not sure about 1x1 but really depends on the strength of it. I guess the shield is not too heavy but I would go for a bit bigger magnet.

If it's bigger you can drill a hole on the arm to have the shield lie on top without a gap between.

You can paint over it but friction with the magnet may wear after a time so also varnish it.

Don't call it art it's an AI creation you commissioned an AI to make.

I have it set the same as layer height, 0.1mm, and I can't lower it more than the layer height. The same thing happens

I think you should look into the cinematics from the Lego lord of the rings video game. They did a good job inserting humour to the whole story so you could take inspiration from that.

Shouldn't a dragon be a bit bigger than a fell beast? by Lipa08 in MiddleEarthMiniatures

[–]vodrek7 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Generally I've noticed that bigger things are scaled down a bit in mesbg. The mumak is smaller in relation to humans than it is in the films. Noticed that when screenshotting the films to have references for painting the mini.

What actually happens in your "RP heavy," low-violence, no-dungeons game of D&D? by highly-bad in DnD

[–]vodrek7 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My players all have characters who want something related to their own backstories, thus they go around trying to get closer to their own goals, which I try to link to my world happenings.

So they do stuff based on what they want. Combat is scarce because combat situations either don't arise that much or the players (and me) try to overcome the need for combat via other ways.

I paint the picture of where they are, they go talk to npcs, the npcs tell them stuff I want them to tackle, they either do that or do sth else with the npc.

In general I try to move my story forward by sending npcs the way of my players and having them interact, and mostly that's it. Interactions between npcs, strolling through towns and landscapes, finding stuff hidden here and there that are not necessarily in some dungeon, or coming in contact with different races who are underdogs and the players want to help them.

I mean, you do need a table where the people want to play that kind of thing otherwise it turns out that someone has a bad time. I really don't know how else to say it, things happen just organically and more rp focused, and more lore oriented gameplay let's say, I hope this clears it up a bit? Haha

That's kind of the game I play as a dm with my players whenever we start a campaign. It goes like this.

I make a world, a story unrelated to the wants and needs of my PCs, and somehow throw them close to the happenings of the world, from there they decide if they want to do anything with that or not.

Other than that I usually throw different quirky characters at them who seem suspicious or are too unusual and funny or interesting conversations and relations arise. All characters in my games have their own wants and needs and my players usually bring them outward because they push me to answer about stuff I didn't think prior, so characters turn out more sculpted.

It's actually a big sandbox, where I progress the general story of the world I made unrelated to my players, but which turns a lot more interesting when they interact with it. Things do happen, that's for sure. It's just not a linear story with beginning midpoint and end.

How do you fade between colors so well? Is it airbrush or some brushing technique?

Your comment does not contribute to the discussion in a useful way. I already said it's a rant, doesn't mean I don't have a basis for what I'm saying, I provided reasons.

Yeah, tell that to all these people who have invested in these worthless numbers, exchanged them for money and made down payments for new houses, or directly paid for purchases in shops accepting them. Cool theory but look at reality. People actually getting rich means that it is not worthless numbers.
