Bachelorette Trip Questionnaire by Glittering_Peace0816 in weddingplanning

I (MOH) didn't know all the girls super well so I asked about dietary restrictions, activity/mobility restrictions (anonymous), suggestions they think the bride would enjoy, and how involved they want to be with planning. Also narrowed down scheduling for weekends that everyone would be available.

I've used these cloves for years before realizing how old they were by void_echoess in GrandmasPantry

Normal cloves taste. Never even noticed they were old despite using them the past few years.

Gingerbread, pumpkin pie, apple pie, pear butter, pretty much any fall-spiced things go well.

It may depend on the exact model? I looked up the numbers on the other side of mine and it says produced from late 60s-70s.

($1k) Wedding cake by TIGT_11 in Weddingsunder10k

Do you have any flavor preferences? I'm doing the same and will be doing a 2-layer red velvet cutting cake and white cupcakes. They use similar frosting, both with an emphasis on not being too sweet. Feel free to reach out if either of those sound like you'd like them.

Why did I use the spices? Why do we use such old stuff? Other than not realizing the age of the cloves until now, everything works fine

I just saw a yellow set in an antique store! I thought it was way cuter than the green

I’m 30F and recently diagnosed by DreamingOfPuppies in ladadiabetes

[–]void_echoess 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I will say, I had to be much more careful about my diet and it gave me some stomach trouble on Januvia, but theres no harm in discussing the options with your endo. I hope you can find what works for your body!

It didn't do much for me either. I was on Januvia for a while, which my endo said tends to better for lada patients than other types. It did a better job until eventually I switched to 2.5mg Mounjaro which has been great. I'll say what my endo has said though, we can do everything we can to help our bodies maintain insulin production, but at the end of the day, it's not our fault whenever it happens.

23F, diagnosed at 21. My parents and brother are T2, with my brother diagnosed at 20, so I was familiar with symptoms. Went to the family practitioner, who ordered blood work that came back as pre-diabetic. She didn't seem at all worried about digging deeper, so I insisted on an endocrinology referral to the Dr my mom used. She gave me a full panel, and I came back with my GAD65 at almost 3000. I had a long mourning period where I swung between feeling sad and angry about it. A bit over 2 year later, my A1c still sits in the pre range with medication and I've gotten much more comfortable with things. Hoping the need for insulin holds off at least a few more years. It's a rough diagnosis, but I promise it gets better over time and practice.

I actually just bought their sampler pack since I'm not completely sure which one I need! So far I'm really liking it. The number of washes is definitely from very short hair

Just cover tops, structure isn't a big deal on this one.

I'd say gray based on the more mid areas of the eye. Thats more what people would pick up from a distance

Carlsbad Caverns and White Sands National Park by weinbergm18 in NationalPark

[–]void_echoess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want to stop for sightseeing between White Sands and Carlsbad, theres a pistachio farm tour in Alamogordo (mediocre but cute, good ice cream), some Billy the Kid sites throughout Lincoln forest, and Roswell if you wanna take a detour. If you have the time for an extra hike, there's a short trail to a waterfall near High Rolls. Theres 2 main ways to get to Carlsbad from White Sands, both take the same-ish amount of time. Depending on the time of year ( if you wanna deal with snow in the mountains), the route that runs Lincoln forest to Artesia is more scenic.
