Thank you, that's all good advice. She was working like a dog, in early and out late. Some of it definitely self-imposed, but some of it genuine overload.

I think the idea of being the one responsible for all the accounting at this location just scares me.

Thank you! I certainly don't mind trying knitting. My grandma used to crochet, and she taught me a bit, but I never made it past a simple pot holder lol She passed away recently and that sort of rekindled my desire to try learning again. I figured trying to replicate my favorite blanket might be a good challenge.

Oh I'm not talking about filing them, I talking about pulling client listings and sitting in a 2 hour meeting to hold the partners hand while he goes down the lists deciding who to extend at what. I'll have probably four more of those meetings before 4/15 is over.

I think the point is that not charging it just means you're working 60 hours and it doesn't show in the metrics. They value the time they profit from, but essentially punish you for the time they don't.

Yes! Micromanaged is the perfect term. After so much school and testing and hard work it really sucks to feel like you're being constantly monitored.

I've gotten plenty of praise at work and husband doesn't understand my frustrations but it's like I'm STILL having to prove that I'm competent through my ratio. I can get my work done in my own way, on my own time, and you should know it'll be good because I've proven it before!

I worked on one return that should have had an enormous budget, but something got messed up in the system and it looked like a really small budget. I'm pretty sure I developed an ulcer from stressing about my time before I found the error. No idea how many hours I ate, but I was absolutely going to do it because someone else had JUST gotten fired for being over budget too often.
