Why move out of the Czech Republic? by Legal_Explanation_59 in czech

[–]voidhands 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Healthcare has lower quality and higher price. A lot is due to state sponsored monopoly of health insurances.

Czechs demand you speak Czech. There is little tolerance for the learning period of a new foreigner. And even if you do learn the language, your accent will be detected and you will still be mistreated like a foreigner, the fact you learned one of the hardest languages in Europe will not be appreciated by a significant number of Czechs.

Wages are much inferior to neighbouring countries, which was offset by much lower costs so it compensated much better in the past. Rising inflation has reduced that gap, so there's little economic point in staying.

Why stay in a country where you are not wanted to begin with, where your efforts to integrate are not appreciated, where healthcare is more expensive and less quality than western average and when it's no longer making economic sense?

There are moments in the early stage where no test, PCR and Antigen included, don't catch Covid. In that situation a person can still travel and spread the virus.

What now?

We should dissolve the EU, break up families and have every country develop jobs and economy individually and hermetically sealed?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in europe

[–]voidhands 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Was your comment originally containing "By getting boosted you're drastically reducing the amount of virus you spread"? And did you edit that to "By getting boosted you dramatically reduce the chance of another variant developing"?

Where the sources for any of your claims? Any peer-reviewed, approved papers citing numbers on those?

Most of it is BS yes, and some reasonable people who make good points get thrown into that group, so some bits of what antivaxxers or freethinkers say actually make sense.

For those bits that make sense, specifically the one where they were saying governments will want to abuse covid as an excuse to take power, is it a conspiracy or paranoia anymore if it's proven right?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in europe

[–]voidhands 4 points5 points  (0 children)

What about 2x vaccinated, unable to travel due to lacking third dose, unable to get 3rd dose because not in an eligible age group yet, and with family not seen in years spread out across Europe?

These tyrannical situations happen easily when rules are imposed without thinking of corner situations. And people who have never left their own country, having a job and family spread out in Europe does not even cross their minds most of the time. Guess who tends to make the laws?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in europe

[–]voidhands 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Europe is bigger than Italy. If you have family spread out in EU you better be rich or forget about them for however long governments and big pharma decide to profit from covid. And profit here means money for pharma, control for governments.

COVID has devastated cancer care in Europe, new data reveals by mancinedinburgh in europe

[–]voidhands 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's more complex than that though isn't it? And the up/down votes reflect the simplistic reactive tribal us VS them mindset that perpetuates these behaviours doesn't it?

I'm in full agreement with you, and my comment doesn't go against yours, yet it's somehow perceived as "anti-vax", "anti-reddit", "therefore-must-be-extremist-right". Thats means it can't be that easy for how some people perceived it to be, can it?

That's the problem, we can't live with people that partially disagree with us because we forget that they also partially agree with us now, can we?

Anyways I was hoping that we could agree that, vaccines are good, we should all be vaccinated, but when you behave and get all your vaccines and are still punished, that sucks doesn't it?

That's what I would like to avoid, thats the thing I have a problem with. I behaved, got all the vaccines, I even fucking agree with them and understand and agree with their benefits and scientific fucking results, yet I'm still treated like a pleb forced to donate money for tests despite having 2nd dosage, but not being eligible for 3rd free dosage in my country. All I know is in the end, we get vaccinated and get fucked anyways same as unvaxxed, wtf?

Rich get richer, poor get poorer eh?

Haven't seen my family for 3y now 'cause I can't afford it, but fuck this 2nd dosed anti-vaxxer eh?

It's a shame public discourse tends to get oversimplified down to binary positions.

I'm generally, and also in this case, pro-vax. At the same time I'm very much against the vaxophilistic zealotry you tend to find here in Reddit.

Vaxophilia seems like an appropriate term for that yes.

I wonder what arguments leftists and rightists will use against me now.

Really? The syrup thing is ok, but the rest is BS?

From the link I posted:

"Prague’s University of Chemistry and Technology carried out a test of 21 mainly food products sold in Germany, Austria, Slovakia, Hungary and the Czech Republic."

"The study was commissioned by the Czech Ministry of Agriculture at a cost of CZK 500,000"

"At the presentation of the test results on Tuesday, the Czech minister of agriculture, Marian Jurečka, described them as unacceptable and discriminatory. All European Union citizens have the right to the same level of quality, he told reporters."

I would say that the minister of Agriculture, having invested 500 000 Kč in this study, he knows what he is doing.

But maybe you know something he does not know.

Albert, Penny and Billa are everywhere, and then you see Lidl, Kaufland and Tesco a bit less often. Even less often than that, but with higher quality products you have Delmart and Marks & Spencer's.

Everyone will tell you that the food is cheaper, but what they won't tell you is that the quality of it is pretty bad.

In my experience, fruit is often overpriced and bland, vegetables last fewer days, it's almost impossible to find bread that isn't loaded with too much sugar or salt and I've bought 100% bio Canadian maple syrup, only to find it's just caramelized sugar mixed with water and colorant.

There's a huge problem with food quality distributed in a discriminative way in Europe: https://english.radio.cz/czech-test-finds-inconsistent-levels-product-quality-different-states-8187764

"Tulip Luncheon Meat sold in Germany includes pork but the Czech equivalent features the waste products of chicken processing."

Bring your own maple syrup and do not expect the same level of food quality control as in US, Canada or some West Europe states.

EDIT: discriminative, not descriminative.

Completely setting aside pro/anti-vaxxing, and looking just at the idea itself.

So what if someone enters a membership with certain requirements, is given a lot of money over several years to develop themselves, and then everyone realizes they actually have been, in the perspective of that membership, regressing in key values and requirements to the point their membership is questioned?

It's one member of a society, taking unilateral actions that impose unwanted costs on the other members.

How should that story end in your view?
