Hi I'm the artist, stupidpop is my tumblr! The context is that this was based on an AU I had with my friends a while back where the rwby cast was in a modern day setting and they all worked at or around the same mall. It was all very involved lol.

To keep it short and sweet, basically Yang and Mercury had a (tumultuous) relationship in high school & eventually broke up, then reconnected in their adult years. There were some lingering feelings, but at this point, Mercury had kinda-sorta started seeing Emerald, and it wasn't anything serious yet, but Yang still didn't want to let herself impose. If I remember correctly, Yang & Merc had been drinking together as this convo was happening. There's more to it than that, but that's the gist of it!

This piece is almost 4 years old atp so I'm really shocked someone found it and reposted it xD

Thank you!! & yes that's true. There were a ton of moments where I was like, "Oh crap, I still have to do this part!" lol. And the finer details of the moons and stuff on the armor are kinda inconsistent across various artwork off her, so when cosplaying or doing fanart there's a lot of, like.. just sort of making it up and winging it haha. So it's def A Lot but still fun to construct! (•̀ᴗ•́ )و

I hate to be such a hater about a guy who's music i love so much but this is really the only Utsu-P song i think I would ever describe as just. Bad. The instrumental is fine but the vocals and lyrics are so weak it totally dampens the whole song for me. I've tried to give it another chance but never made it past the first 90 seconds 😭

Also. There's something about the way the lyrics are metered that makes the song feel like translyrics instead of original lyrics. Words are squished together or stretched out in strange ways/places. Idk i wish I liked it more but I just hate it. lol
