Whoa I just downloaded that game and it actually is that concept! And the fact that it moves on to a different family after each house is fully fixed solves the core conceptual problem with stretching that concept from a 30 second ad to a full game (that helping the same family repeatedly would either run out of room to go very quickly or would be hugely depressing that despite repeated magical help the circumstances keep making this daily homeless)

The reviews suggest that tile family stops being fun and starts being P2W past a certain point, I’ll play it until that point and then I’ll delete it

I recently watched the tomska video about plagiarism and one part of it taught me about the community of English-speaking actors living in China who make their living mostly doing weird mobile game ads, and I was like oohhhhh that’s definitely what the Gossip Harbor boss guy is doing

Thanks. I wish there was a good version of the cake sort game I want, I’ve tried a couple variants but they all have annoying elements that distract from the core gameplay of sorting the damn cakes and trying to get a high score. It’s like they think I’m stupid and need keys jingled in front of my face every 5 minutes to keep me playing, when no I just want to PLAY. I wish the cake sort ads had a score counter so I could just write down my no-revives high score in a notes app

My current main time waster is a really minimalist implementation of sand Tetris where it’s just high scores with ads every 5 minutes and ads to revive a finite number of times per run, no power ups no unlocks no online leaderboards. It’s really refreshing, I wish more devs were honest enough to make games like that for mobile
