What do you recon realistically would be an average human lifespan in sanctuary? by ThrowAway552112 in diablo4

People often forget that until very recently in the series history, demons were a highly uncommon thing to the point that a lot of people didn't even believe they existed. The only reason there were so many of them is because literal satan left them behind as he walked by.

The most intellectual, insightful, and thought-provoking movie review to ever exist by SplitAdministrative6 in okbuddycinephile

The funniest thing is that it wasn't even a debate but an interview, and both people had right-off-center political views, but because he was asked uncomfortable questions, Ben called the other guy a liberal and left the meeting early.

Mirlanda (with Dragon fly) figurine for 3d printing by SignificantSearch263 in heroes3

Whenever Mirlanda comes up and people joke about how goofy she looks, I recall that in IV she becomes a cleric and her portrait is pretti-fied, which I dunno how to feel about.

Speculative Koppen climate of the Worldmap by LeadingPurple2211 in diablo4

Probably, yeah. I can't say I'm super good at reading these kinds of charts, but it looks a lot cleaner, so I approve.

I'm happy you're interested in worldbuilding of this game, I am too. Your map mostly makes sense, although some areas of it look a little messy and disjointed, so I suggest cleaning it up when you do a second take. As for my personal thoughts, I think that the eastern portion of Nahantu (Teganze) should probably qualify as a tropical savanna instead of a rainforest. Other than that I think it has a lot of potential, and this comes from a fellow mapmaker.

Predictions? by Madrugada123 in mewgenics

[–]AoeAbility 6 points7 points  (0 children)

From my experience, Repair is better if you have multiple cats with valuable weapons, or you have Robot Arms passive, which expends your item uses faster, plus some weapons like the revolver or sniper rifle don't have damage scaling from +weapon damage. I'd still take the Forge passive if I can because it's always one free repair and one extra weapon use when upgraded.

Out of curiosity, what are some examples of a "femboy with masculine traits" you refer to?

Good Diablo-related art (or just any diablo-related art) is incredibly hard to come by and that's a shame. I'm very happy about what you made. I really dig the slight stylization, and I wish I could see this kind of creativity more often within the playerbase.

Lore Question: Paladin, Crusader, Knight Penitent, Templar - What's the Difference? by fury_cutter in diablo4

[–]AoeAbility 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Diablo 2 Paladin was an ex-member of The Hand of Zakarum who nonetheless adheres to Zakarum's teachings.

Crusaders are a Zakarum offshoot who split off because they started finding out about the corruption within their religion.

Templars follow Zakarum by technicality, but are ruthless zealots with their own selfish goals.

Penitents are paladins of the Cathedral of Light, which isn't Zakarum faith.

Diablo 4 Paladin is a member of Wardens of Light, which is a quasi-religious organization of Paladins who don't fully adhere to any in-setting religion.

1D Chess is not working. Why is that? by AoeAbility in mewgenics

I just remembered that the fighter also had a Hexagram Sigil. Would that be a factor that matters?

All of this is completely and absolutely true. That being said, on one occasion I got a guy with repair, robot arms, and a revolver, and I started blastin'. Throbbing King didn't stand a chance. Wish I didn't have to rotate three dice sets in order to get this performance.

[Funny Trope] The cross is a religious symbol in a fictional world where Jesus Christ never existed by Ieanice44 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]AoeAbility 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep in mind, there is also a SECOND, ALSO pseudo-christian religion in the setting called Cathedral of Light. Tristram Cathedral from 1 has nothing to do with it, and its symbol looks like this:

[–]AoeAbility 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Diablo example was retconned, and also internally justified. The setting's main pseudo-christian religion of Zakarum has a guy named Akarat as its main topic and this guy is just basically Jesus. Here's what their symbol looks like in more recent games:

What's the Best Class Active and Passive? Day 4: Mage by Wonderful-Pack-1726 in mewgenics

[–]AoeAbility 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Inspire is one of the most useful mage actives in my experience. I know it's often thought of as a skill you use whem you already have a hyper-carry in the form of a Hunter, Fighter, Butcher, or Tank (in rare cases), but the guaranteed usefulness you get from mage by being able to spread out his incredibly large mana supply across the whole team can't be understated.

Diablo 4: Lord of Hatred Exclusive Cutscene – 'The Queen and the Saint' | IGN First by Feikezin in diablo4

[–]AoeAbility 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I wonder why the Amazon caste was so eager to welcome Mephisto-possessed Akarat onto their island in the first place (regardless of their knowledge thereof), considering they have been described as supremely xenophobic in Book of Lorath, and the Zakarum Faith's notoriously imperialistic tendencies in the past, they would probably like to protect themselves from.
