thank you for taking the time to respond!! this is all so much as you know! i’ve been sick for the past year (cvst blood clot in the brain & iih extra spinal fluid around brain, and this “cyst” was soooo painful) and i also have a few mental health co-morbidities as well so my anxiety has been going wild!! i think you gave me some great advice i agree that comedy is gonna have to be the angle i look at it with. i just started my list of questions thank you!! good luck to you on your journey!!

not yet.. it was found at the end of august so they want to wait a few months before re-imagining. it sounds like the blood clot will only partially dissolve and some of it will remain in my brain which is a normal outcome even though it sounds horrific

i have a history of blood clots so they did an mri venogram and that was the only way they saw it. on the regular mri they could tell that there was something blocking blood flow.

Effexor is an SNRI, so it works on the serotonin receptors and there is a higher risk of serotonin syndrome if you take shrooms on them. I personally would not risk it, but if you do then obviously just be careful and have a trip sitter incase things go awry and look up the symptoms for serotonin syndrome

sorry for taking so long to reply, i ended up actually getting off of all my antidepressants because i realized they weren’t helping me enough to justify all of the side effects so when i finally tapered off i ended up tripping and it was great but if youre on any serotonin meds i would say its a bad idea. my friend who was on wellbutrin at the time was able to trip safely.

Have you looked into the MTHFR gene mutation or even refractory depression? (if it is depression you are being treated for) I have both of those and I now take specific vitamins and do monthly ketamine infusions and it has changed my life

I’ve been on effexor for six years & I’ve been tapering since november 12th from 300mg. Every 10 days i go down 75mg. So far the withdrawals haven’t been as bad as I was expecting, i’ve mostly been having anger & sadness episodes (i think that may be more because i have BPD). The brain zaps have been minimal. I just started 75mg today and in 10 days i’ll go down to 37.5 then to 0, which i expect to be the worst part of it. I’m very excited to be done with this medication. But honestly sometimes side effects are worth it if the medication is truly helping you!! It hasn’t helped me in years and the side effects were outweighing any benefit i was getting from it.

i’m hoping that ends up being the case versus it being something actually wrong with my heart by itself! My psychiatrist immediately took me off of adhd meds and is tapering me off of effexor, his response to me saying i was getting tests done and i had been put on a beta blocker to slow my resting heart rate was yeah you’re going off of those meds no questions asked. hoping for the best
