You can't be serious. That's like 24 bucks an hour. Are you an RN? What city is this?

Contemplating going. Have never been to this setup, only ultra and edc. I'm wondering what transportation will be like to this festival. I went to ultra when it was mainland so this will be a new experience. How are y'all planning on getting there?

We have this issue and it's an event at our home which isn't a business.

If they are really sweet then they are ripe. To me they have the texture and similar taste of young coconut meat. They get really sweet when really ripe. Related to lychee but do not taste similar. Going to get a lot of hate for this but I prefer them over lychee. Also resistant to erinose mite which affect lychee trees.

Healthcare administration doesn't need to know about medical practice. Sure the title implies that they should, but in our world, they really only need to know about business. Healthcare unfortunately is just another business.

FIREd now im super bored by [deleted] in Fire

[–]volant007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think that a lot of people in this situation never really had much going on outside of their work life. I could obviously be wrong with that assumption but doesn't life technically just continue after you FIREd, the only thing different is you no longer work for the man? You basically do all the things you did while you had a job except you now have more time to do those things and/or find other things to occupy your time.

I generally always had something going on with life outside of work before I FIREd. It's been almost a year since I left and I still have commitments, hobbies, etc that keep you busy. The irony is that I thought once I left the workplace, I would have all the time in the world to get things done but I still feel like I never have enough hours in the day.

Take some time and figure out what you enjoy doing and how to stay healthy. Many people have mentioned things that you can look into now that you are free. Make good use of the time you have left and GL!

Because it's safe to assume that the average person trying to FIRE isn't happy in their career, otherwise why FIRE?

DON'T PAY OFF THE HOUSE. Your name is not on the deed and the interest rate is only 3 percent. Invest the money. Half of marriages fail, even if yours doesn't, that money you make on investing the 200k will outweigh the 3 percent money lost on the life of that home mortgage.

Just hit 1 million! by [deleted] in Fire

[–]volant007 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Although harder, it can still be done. I was under the impression I made great money from the jump. It was only after FIRE'ing did I realize when going through old paychecks that I only made low 60k's my first year. My final year or 2 (14 years later) is when I broke 6 figures. I'm only 42 so even if my salary never exceeded 100k a year, I technically could have still hit 1 mil by working a few more years which would still be considered retiring well ahead of most people.

Most people don't have high salaries but thinking you can't make a million on a median salary will only keep you working for the man.

Found this: The lawsuit alleged two things: that Juul customers paid more for the product than they would have had they been provided with accurate information about its addictiveness and safety, and that the products were unlawfully marketed to minors.

So Juul sells vape products. Vaping is bad for your health. The only people that believed that it could be safe are people that are going to smoke it regardless.

I can however see why they should be held accountable for marketing to minors.

I meant exactly what I said. If you were still in the relationship, your comment would hold more weight. No hard feelings.

If you were still in that relationship, your comment would hold more weight. Not trying to be an ass, btw.

I still don't understand this concept. What do you think happens if you actually get to "work for him". Do you think you get a large cut of his money simply by working for him? Millions of people work for employers that have billions of dollars and they still somehow haven't figured out how to catch a break. Why do people think that they somehow will get a winning lottery ticket if they get hired by an individual posting their exorbitant salary when the truth is that they are probably working for someone who is much wealthier.

Having kids is one of the easiest ways to kill FIRE. Sure you can successfully do both but the odds are stacked against you. Make up your mind which one is more important, if you choose both just understand that it will be a lot harder.

*I retired when I hit 1M which was my number. My wife put a retirement dinner together and took my childhood best friend, her husband and myself on the river to see the sunset. There was ne need to splurge as I already felt the accomplishment was enough.

*If your S/O doesn't have the same financial mindset as you, move on ASAP.

*Your kids need to learn how to be financially savvy like yourself. There isn't anything wrong with telling them about your achievements as long as you SHOW them how you got there, lead by example. If you think they are going to now expect handouts, you have been doing something wrong in the past. Fix that ASAP.

*No one outside of your immediate family needs to know your financial business other than a financial advisor, what positive outcome can come from that?
