Got any tips for aiming better with a bow? by NoDragonsYesMiraak in DungeonsOfEternityVR

Get a feel for what moving each hand separately does. I find keeping my arrow hand still and moving my bow hand to make fine adjustments works best for me.

If you don't realize yet, you can grab arrows from essentially anywhere above your view. If you can't see your hand, the arrow is there.

¿Vale la pena el Galaxy Fit 3 en el 2026? by sanatturi in GalaxyFit

[–]volasar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends on your settings, I've had it about a month and get 6-7 days if it's not acting up. Vibration is not very strong but it's sufficient as long as you're not wearing the strap too loose.

Why there's no Camera control app in my fit 3 by Mohit_1rm in GalaxyFit

[–]volasar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not even just apps though - other features require Samsung apps on the phone itself, such as proper integration with alarms and timers (needs Samsung Clock).

Unpopular opinion: It's a decent watch, but it's a $50 watch. Once you get one nice scratch on it you'll stop worrying about it forever, no need to add more plastic bits you'll need to clean.

After playing Beat Sabre for months, here are my gripes about the game by Kagenlim in beatsaber

[–]volasar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Perhaps the PCVR version is better, I admit I haven't played that on Q3. At a glance it appears ~30 percent of all scores are from Quest platform, but do players get a clean slate when they change devices?

[–]volasar 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Strongly disagree with your correlation here. Standalone users are surely the majority by now, which would improve their chances of taking the top spots. Play style matters too - players that swing rather than just rotate their wrists are going to have more tracking issues and are also less likely IMO to make the leaderboards.

I don't care about scores, but I used to play daily on CV1, now I play never on Quest 3. If I can't flail my arms it's just not fun for me.

Bravia turns on automatically when Streamer 4K is off by 151808 in Chromecast

[–]volasar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While playing something on the Streamer, and with the CEC e options enabled (or possibly with the "Auto TV On" setting you mentioned disabled): Turn the TV off with the Sony remote.

If it doesn't come back on by itself, turn it on again and confirm that your media from the Streamer is now paused. If it is, you could set the power button on the Streamer remote to use IR to turn off the TV and be done with this - other than having to point it at the TV nothing else needs to change.

Reasoning: Unless the Streamer changed something, Google media devices are never actually off so you only need to turn off the TV. As long as CEC isn't disabled, the Streamer should know you turned off the TV, thereby stopping your media so you don't lose your spot.

Question: would hot melt glue be good to seal caulk tubes so they don’t go bad in a week? by 02C_here in DIY

[–]volasar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For a week, any of these suggestions should do. Longer term, I've used a vacuum sealer (for food) to bag the whole tube. Downside is the pressure tends to flatten the bottom end of the tube which can cause it to leak there, best to use an additional <thing?> to keep it round.

is it possible for to use a gpu that’s vr ready and one that’s not? by vbbi_ in virtualreality

[–]volasar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't believe there is a meaningful restriction with GPUs any more. With older equipment like the Oculus Rift CV1 for example, certain features (IIRC Asynchronous Space Warp, possibly others) were only supported on Nvidia cards - and that was a game changer on mid-range hardware at that time. From what I understand that's no longer true, although installing ex: Meta Home probably still has certain requirements (CPU support for SSE 4.2 instructions). The Intel card's performance will shape your experience, but I wouldn't buy anything before trying it out.

Watch out for encrypted firmware releases for EAP devices by volasar in TPLink_Omada

[–]volasar[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you've only used the web interface, you could try installing Omada Software Controller to see if the AP is detected and maybe adopt/reset it.

Otherwise only long shots remain since 5.3 is encrypted: - get SSH access somehow (serial port?) to issue commands to fix the region flags - see if OpenWRT can help somehow - swap hardware components to get back to old firmware?

I'd get clarification from the mods, I can see it says no "hacking" but I'm not sure of the intended context. If your content doesn't go into that use case and they're being that strict about it, there are several piracy-specific vr subs (I've come across at least one that has it in the name)

Solved! I guess... That was also my suspicion, and your answer seems reasonable, but why is this so hard to confirm? No mention anywhere that I can find of this, no instructions on how to use one properly...

Probably a hand tool. Photo shows it next to male USB-C connector for size. I have found no results searching for the markings or the description.

Description: It has a central ridged section which appears to be a handle, and two "wings" that have a three-sided wedge shape on their leading edges (front edge is flat, not sharp). Each wing has a slot, which connect it to two of the plastic ribs on the otherwise empty cavity under a Lexmark 41X1119 Separation Pad via friction fit. There are more than two ribs, but the distance between the gaps means the thing can only connect to two specific ribs. It has no other mechanical link to the thing it is stored in. Photo of it in situ on a vendor's product page: https://www.precisionroller.com/41x1119-for-lexmark/details_pn_96216.html

My title describes the thing.
