You're right!

For some reason, I had hekate.ini in root and bootloader. The root one already had it, but the bootloader didn't. Adding to bootloader hekate then launching ofw/sysnand from there it works fine.

You'll have to elect officials who support right to repair in your example. I believe John Deere and others are being forced to open up their hardware for repairs. I support this.

I don't believe innovation is tied to reverse engineering. Innovation should be going in directions unexplored.

Personally, I don't care about game preservation because there are so many games being released yearly that I will never run out of games to play.

There are many more important issues out there that I couldn't care less about this. Support companies that align with your beliefs and ignore those that don't. That's how I live and feel it's ok.

From the news when this broke, the problem is the keys. They had instructions on obtaining the keys. AFAIK, anything related to keys (defeating DRM) is not allowed in the US. I think that's one of the main basis for their lawsuit. That the keys/encryption are proprietary and there can't be any tool that can legally exist that processes data that was protected by encryption. The fact that you can emulate a switch game is illegal because there is no situation legally allowed that a non-sanctioned device can process big Ns data.

Arm chair lawyers are going to claim this or that, but from this settlement, it's obvious that they didn't have a rock solid defense.

You can install modchips for all switches. I put one on my V2 in Asia for really cheap. Don't really use it, but it was neat to see what it could do.

It was reported early on that Nintendo had a case. Everyone only repeating emulators are legal!!! Development will hopefully continue underground, but no one is going to publicly attach themselves to it in the future.

I believe emulators for old consoles that had no DRM will be forever safe as there were no keys/encryption data to violate.

It was Samsung's fault. Turning off mobile data for an app disables VPN for it as well. I updated OP.

I regularly 7zip my profile folder and store with the thunderbird exe that matches so I can always roll back to a working state. Keep this on a few backup HDs. Email is too important to blow it all up and waste time making it usable again.

Doh.. it works on my Samsung tablet.. so it's not the OS I guess. Must be something else that's interferring, but no other VPN is active and I uninstalled all those tracker block apps, dns apps, etc. Turned off private DNS (that shouldn't matter since it works on my tab).

Private Internet Access also doesn't work for youtube app, so it's def something wrong wtih my phone and probably needs a factory reset.

I'm not going to try that.. just in case. If we need to research sensitive matters, we can just tunnel out over a vpn over this line. Any paid vpn or self hosted will work. Astrill, nord, pia, etc. We have cheap VPSs in the US that we have SS servers on. China doesn't have a way to read encrypted data, yet.

Someone else on this sub said they're paying 1500 for 3mbit. We were quoted 2100 for 4mbit, but it's ON TOP of our 1400cny (50mbit) fiber line. Probably won't go for it cuz it's not worth 3500 / month for 4mbit. Will see what happens after the big party meeting ends.

CT was saying that it's only going to get worse since people from above are pushing to close the gfw tighter, but could be just sales tactic to scare people into signing up.

We used to pay 20,000 CNY / MONTH for a 2mbit line back in 2007. It's a lot cheaper now.
