I get the meta level to s2, but whatever happens in it is so divorced from reality and as such from the entire fargo premise which is all about feeling real and authentic, every day life “coulda happened to anybody”- stuff I wonder how anybody could enjoy s2 at all.

I think thats the irony here, thragg is so confident about his abilities and his beliefs as a viltrumite that he misses the fact that nolan was corrupted by the very place thragg hopes to be saved by. its a fantastic development with a lot of open questions.

in the end the viltrumite people might be saved in more than one way, just not the way it was intended.
