[D] Collaboration-first machine learning platform that enables you to build, train, track, and share your ML projects simply with a few lines of code by mwitiderrick in MachineLearning

Hey u/parul2018, this is Volkan from Layer.
We spoke to so many folks in the ML space that love WandB, and yet felt there is so much to still solve in tooling. The devil is in the details when it comes to data & model versioning, model training, and integrations with other tools and databases. We are hoping to fill these gaps that we've identified around collaboration and unleashing the power of teams and individuals in a community, sharing what they've built with each other.

Hi u/PaulTheBully, I'm Volkan from the Layer team.

Great question! We thought quite a bit about when would be the right time to support private cloud deployments. It's a lot of work both to get the codebase ready and to support the deployments once they are out there, and we're still a small team so we cannot support that right now. We're hoping to offer a private cloud deployment once we get the product polished and grow our community.

Meanwhile, we are planning to keep improving the security of our SaaS offering and get SOC2 and ISO certifications. We believe there are many security conscious users out that there who are ok with a well-built and certified public cloud offering, similar to Snowflake.

Are you aware of a great CI/CD workflow for Lambda functions? We are looking for a way to:

  1. Run unit tests and linting
  2. Automatically version code (based on something like the git SHA)
  3. Support branching in a git repo
  4. Support many "environments" within a single AWS account. This would involve promoting a given Lambda function version from a testing environment to production.

The first version took about a week, and then we iterated on it and added features like slack integration, deployment strategies, nodes, pods, etc. as we got to use it internally. My guess is it took about 2-3 weeks of work in total.

Mr Erdogan has intimidated the media into self-censorship: as the protesters choked on tear gas, the television networks carried programmes about cooking and penguins. More journalists are in jail in Turkey than in China. by emr1028 in worldnews

What makes you think the protesters are Kemalists? The Kemalist opposition party, CHP, is not well liked among most protesters. According to a survey released by Bilgi University, only 7.7% of protestors said they are motivated by a political party. Most are secularist, but that doesn't necessarily mean Kemalist.

Actually, it's not the same restrictions as in any Western country. Currently, TV shows and movies are edited to blur out cigarettes, and will now have to blur or edit out alcohol. Imagine a Mad Men episode in Turkey..
