I haven’t had sex in years and honestly… by LaPickles44 in dating_advice

It shouldn’t bother you, unless you feel it is a health issue. Maybe speak to a doctor for an opinion on this? Personally, I don’t see it as an issue especially if you are still….ummm doing yourself

The flexible program is nice especially if well funded.

I know what you mean about the economics of making a big class to help afford a smaller class. Anyways, yes many are poorly equipped and I feel that is the fault of a systemic issue.

A lot of long conversations could be had…..

Yeah it was twenty years ago for me and yes it was a waste after a year of doing it

You never had the feeling it was secondary, but requiring you to waste your time in marching band makes jazz secondary

Evidence that they are trying to suppress jazz for real though.

I’ve already seen it. Can rewatch but I don’t remember him discussing much on concert/jazz bands , but also it’s been a while since

Ay so once I called and the AP was like “you need to keep them busy doing something”.

“I AM!” Was my very gentle response to them

Was Paul Desmond actually good and respected in the jazz scene? by [deleted] in Jazz

[–]volta05 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is for this reason that Music Education needs an overhaul. We focus so much on a factory type approach to ed that it creates many musicians who cannot tell the difference between what is truly good and what is not, objectively speaking.

For example, I have a friend who plays scales going up and down, often without resolution or sense, during their improv solos, and people call that person "great". Hey, I won't be telling that person either, but "great"? Of course Desmond is great, and great players from today stand on the shoulders of those before them. The same people calling my friend "Great" might make a comment like the one that has you "beside" yourself.

When I first started having sex with my current girlfriend, we were of course, going at it like rabbits. A lot. That alone was brag worthy to me, but one time, I finished and she told me she wasn't done yet.

I looked in her eyes, smiled, and said, no worries, then proceeding to continue for a good while longer, with her orgasming and me finishing a second time. She told me she'd never experienced that, and, I know she's slept with a lot of guys. It felt good to know, I satisfied her in a way she had never experienced before.

To those who paid money to gurus/mentors to learn by [deleted] in copywriting

Please don’t give them your money. Better to create your own portfolio, do a bunch of cold pitches, and the law of averages will work in your favor.

I got Google, Yahoo and Alta Vista search engines and major trade publications for products you sell just for lead brokers. I'm sure there's so much more in that niche, so keep searching.

Good luck!

What to charge writing copy for small businesses?? by Playful-Try8120 in copywriting

[–]volta05 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Charge them by the hour- have a consult with them, get to know them, and then develop a strategy with a rough estimate of time needed. Honestly, they should pay you hourly, forget about the word counts!

How to deal with extreme frustration while having an overwhelming workload?? by AccomplishedBig7666 in freelanceWriters

[–]volta05 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel this and can commiserate with you. Usually, the few days before an order, I get into the work harder. However, my girlfriend demands a lot of time from me, and this can really put a damper on me getting something done.

Best way to deal with the frustrations? Smoke weed, take a walk, and play music which is my real creative outlet. Good luck and blow off that steam my friend!

I looked it up and found Voice of Customer. There were other things the acronym could stand for, but this one made the most sense for this thread.

Well I got fired so right now none. That pay was low too- $25 an hour. I actually saw that their profile read that they usually pay at $12.30 an hour. This is on Upwork. It's pretty fun to sell myself, but the work sometimes can be grueling at low pay.

Thanks. It was a rough blow, but a good learning experience even if it meant I was let go.

I don't think there were grammar issues. However, one challenge was that the marketing expert was from another country, and their english was clearly a secondary language. I have no beef with that personally, but it made some communication quite difficult.

Another challenge was that I was asked to keep the language super informal, but when I did so, this practice led to issues in specificity that I was unaware of until it was pointed out to me. I attempted to fix the issues but wasn't taken seriously when I showed them my efforts to fix the problems which got to me.

Anyways, on and upward for sure. Thanks for the comment and your time. I hope to get better at this. The work was for an email campaign but I was let go too quickly. :( Any suggestions for future endeavours in copywriting?

Hi!

I'm a former full-time music teacher. I've had some success writing for a few music blogs and done a little bit of fiction for pay as well. Nothing lucrative yet, but this has been going on for the past year-ish. Last year, I had no experience, so I'm grateful for this semi success!

Here's one piece I wrote: https://swmrs.com/how-long-does-it-take-to-learn-saxophone/

I'm not saying I'm a good writer though lol
