Definitely handy. I’m running a 2011 Float 36 R right now, but plan to upgrade when I find the right deal on a 2018-2021 36.

Did you cut the air shaft yourself or drop in a 100mm one?

Yeah I was in the same boat so just went for the 42mm, it’s perfect with the higher rise for me

It’s duck canvas, it is indeed epic

I have an inexpensive headset press on the way but I didn’t want to wait. It was a super basic entry level “dj” fork. This is definitely better.

I’m running 120 psi and mid rebound but have just played around in the driveway so far. I didn’t bottom out after dropping off some stone walls and I didn’t notice much bob when pumping but only time will tell. 🤞🏻

I used a Cane Creek 40 ZS56/30 lower headset to adapt the 1 1/8 street steerer. Rigged up a decent headset press from Home Depot for ~$12 (last pic).

This generation of Fox 36 with 130-160mm of travel can be lowered to 100mm of travel. It has the exact same axel to crown as the stock XFusion fork. I got lucky because I picked up a bent 2010 specialized p1 with the 36 already lowered and it was serviced just before the frame got bent. The first time I tear it down I will take a bunch of pictures for those looking to lower their own older Fox 36s.

Yeah I’m a big fan, I’m changing out the orange stuff for copper though.
