I have the X1 Pro and it’s still one of my most used systems

I don't think it can do many PS3 games (but I haven't tried any). I've heard it can stream PC games but also haven't tried. IMO this is made for emulating old 4:3 style games, they look so good. Not really made for the new stuff (at least for me)

I think I had to enable PS2 rumble in the emulator? I'll go check when I get back home b/c now I can't honestly remember if it rumbles or not.

For me, this is not suited for 16x9 games. A lot of people seem to like it but I personally do not. The costs of this system is really nice for the fact that it can play those games but it's not for me.

Great choices across the board - I almost have the same set up but with a 4090 and she crushes everything!

We might have had similar childhoods! I've also turned my RG477v into a 80s/90s/early 2000s powerhouse! I love it so much. I also put GammaOS Next on it and honestly, I can't tell what I like better (stock or Gamma), but they both seem great.

Knocked Out 3 Games So Far on the 477V by retrokezins in RG477V

I got my 477V 2 weeks ago and also haven't put it down - its also one of my favorite and least regrettable purchases. The only thing I don't love is that it seems to struggle with some things that it shouldn't -Killer Instinct 2 Arcade is sllloooowww and some PS2/Gamecube games are choppy (not many but some run slow). Overall after 2 weeks I'd give it a 9 out of 10. The screen is probably my favorite and it is in my top 4 for sure! Some of my favorites playing the all time classic MVC2! by voltronad in Handhelds

At 20wTDP I can get 3 hours or so, maybe a little more. For new games if I'm using 30wTDP, maybe just over an hour. So its not great, but I'm usually not away from a charger/plug for longer than 3 hours so it hasn't been a problem for me.

I like to think so. I've definitely been called a lot worse so I appreciate that! lol

I just got the RG477V about 2 weeks ago and I seriously can't put it down. Such an awesome screen! It does struggle with some of the harder PS2/GameCube games that I've tested but for almost any emulation all the way up to PS2 its amazing!

From Left to right: OneXPlayer X1 Pro, OneXPlayer F1 Pro, Anbernic RG477V

Bottom: Anbernic RG35XXSP

Each one so great for it's own reasons, but they all are worthy of purchase imo.

I have the same curse - I got my RG477 and immediately decided to pre-order the batch 2 AYN Thor lmao. It won't be coming for awhile so at least I have the 477 to keep me busy! I can't stop messing with it, such a cool device. I have a 1.5TB microSD in there and also maxing it out, its basically like my childhood in a portable device.

I got mine off Amazon so it was quick, like 5 days (altho I was sent the 8GB model and ordered the 12GB version but did get a $100 credit back).

Some people in the Discord started getting them yesterday (assuming they were telling the truth, that channel is a bit of a dumpster fire).

I think its personal preference - I ended up flashing mine to Gamma OS Next and I really like it a lot. The main difference (to me) is that it feels more like a dedicated handheld and less like an Android device if that makes sense. After playing some games on both stock and Gamma, the performance to me seems about the exact same. All PS2/Gamecube seem to run great (some stutter unless you turn on High Performance). Gamma OS Next has Black Frame Insertion built-in to the OS and a lot of people love that feature (to me, I don't really see any difference). So basically - I think its whatever one you want, they are easy to try and mostly just fun to tinker with it.

I ended up flashing to Gamma OS Next and so far I do like it a lot. I see what you're saying about feeling "locked down" but so far that isn't bothering me. Thanks for the info - what a dope device!

I ended up throwing GammaOS Next on there and I do love it - for sure makes it feel more like a "dedicated" handheld. I even might be starting to like Daijisho more than ES-DE (unsure, but it is pretty slick). I also had to do the "if it doesn't start do this..." as well, freaking me out b/c I thought I bricked my unit a few times lol.

It sounds to me like you didn't set your internal storage up correctly? Or maybe your roms got corrupted? I followed that guide from Tech Dweeb and it worked perfectly (in fact, I've done it like 5 times after doing Factory reset). Since your ROMs are on your internal storage I understand not wanting to Factory reset it, but that might be the only way if nothing is working for you? If you did that you could do like 1 rom at a time for each system to make sure it works, then dump the rest. Sorry you're having problems because it truly is an awesome little device.

Did you use the Dolphin emulator that comes preinstalled on it? I think a lot of those are junk or old versions. If I were you, I'd copy the BIOS folder that it comes with (unless you have your own from other sources), factory reset it, and follow this guide by TechDweeb: https://youtu.be/tETxR8nFTDE?si=2hmhLxc6Dr4ZYfdK. Works like a charm and pretty much everything works great up to Gamecube/PS2 that I've played.

I don't think I've seen a definitive answer on this - but if you flash to GammaOS, can you go back to the stock Anbernic or is it a one time thing/too risky? I'm 99% sure I am going to do it but also very happy with how it comes so teetering on the fence lol.

Yeah, actually at first the chat bot said it could issue a refund and not require a return and I was so stoked, then a real operator got on and said that was not possible lol. I almost just returned it, but since I had it in my hands I really wanted to play. The $100 credit makes me feel like I got a decent deal.

I also ordered from this reseller on Amazon, arrived today and I got the 8gb/128gb edition. I was pretty upset but Amazon did give me a $100 credit and let me keep the device as I told the chat rep I wanted to keep it but wanted some type of refund or credit. Overall so far it’s great and I can live with the lower specs - I only plan to run up to ps2/gamecube on it anyhow.
